seanmartina,
Well then I would say you have been VERY lucky!
gordita37,
This will not fix the clock loop. Just leave it, usually it will come out of the loop, but it may take days.
The clock loop kicks in BEFORE any software, other than the MSDash, loads. Because of this, even Evox's ability to sync to a time server won't solve the issue, as the loop occurs BEFORE Evox loads.
If you are dead set against doing what is known to work (the hotswap and removal of the font exploit) your only hope is to let it loop until it comes out.
If you didn't want to mess with your PC or open the XBox, you really should have gone with the audio exploit. Sure the fonts are more convienent, but the audio exploit is the only "safe" way other than a mod chip. I no longer use the font exploit, the clock loop issue is to easy to run up against.
Things to try:
1. Boot with a VERY scratched up audio CD in.
2. Plug and unplug the network cable while booting.
3. Play with the eject button while booting.
4. Combinations of the above.
Unfortunatly my experiance has been that these things will NOT work if you are using the original font exploit, as it doesn't even try to recover from the clock loop.
I would just buck up and do the hotswap... This way you can fix the problem, make a backup, and update to the latest bigfonts, or switch to the audio hack.
Oh and even if your friend let you "borrow" his HD, your XBox would refuse to boot with it. The HD's are unique to the XBox.
Morden.
