I leave my xbox on every night to hope to find evox running when I wake up.. Sadly... No luck... Anyways I need to know if I am leaving my xbox on for nothing because it is dead worthless anmd I will never be able to use it again or is there still hope that evox will run? I have tried pretty much all of these thing... Right now I'm just leaving my xbox for a long time hoping that I will see my evox screen running someday... And if you got it to load and you have the original bert and ernie files, some people say that they use a music cd, well I would like to know if this music cd is burnt/non-burnt and what cd exactly? I'm really worried about my poor xbox... I got this xbox from the very first day it came out... 11-15-01... I dont know if it was in 01 that it came out but... Well this isn't the point! The point is that I looking for idea's to make it load up to evox again!

LEave your Xbox on Phoneix/evox will load after an hour or two even with the Original font hack.
After that you must ftp in to your xbox and bring back the old font files so that the expolit does not load.  then when you boot up the Xbox dash will load and you can set  the time.
Of course you will have to use the 007/ or mech hacks to readload the Font hacks.

connect it to a home network whith clocksync software running on your pc, this will give the xbox the time and it will boot into evox, the xbox looks for the time on the network, when its booting and if it cant find it on the network it will loop, if you dont have a network connect to your pc using a croosover cable, and the pc connected to the internet, this is important the pc must be connected to the net so the clocksync software can get the correct time, on both methods

1 connect the xbox to your pc via a router or using a crossover cable,

2 make sure there is a connection to the internet on your network if you are using a router, or crossover cable

3. so your xbox is connected to the pc via a router or crossover cable and your computer is connected to the net, if your router supports it change the settings to get the correct time from network.

turn on xbox it will reboot after 2-3 times into evox, i have the clock loop at least 4 times a week and this works 100% of the time for me, including with the original fonts.

if you connect the xbox to a switch box on its on via a network cable this sometimes works, my friend uses that method

seanmartina,
Well then I would say you have been VERY lucky!

gordita37,
This will not fix the clock loop. Just leave it, usually it will come out of the loop, but it may take days.

The clock loop kicks in BEFORE any software, other than the MSDash, loads. Because of this, even Evox's ability to sync to a time server won't solve the issue, as the loop occurs BEFORE Evox loads.

If you are dead set against doing what is known to work (the hotswap and removal of the font exploit) your only hope is to let it loop until it comes out.

If you didn't want to mess with your PC or open the XBox, you really should have gone with the audio exploit. Sure the fonts are more convienent, but the audio exploit is the only "safe" way other than a mod chip. I no longer use the font exploit, the clock loop issue is to easy to run up against.

Things to try:
1. Boot with a VERY scratched up audio CD in.
2. Plug and unplug the network cable while booting.
3. Play with the eject button while booting.
4. Combinations of the above.

Unfortunatly my experiance has been that these things will NOT work if you are using the original font exploit, as it doesn't even try to recover from the clock loop.

I would just buck up and do the hotswap... This way you can fix the problem, make a backup, and update to the latest bigfonts, or switch to the audio hack.

Oh and even if your friend let you "borrow" his HD, your XBox would refuse to boot with it. The HD's are unique to the XBox.

Morden.

well i dont think ive been lucky, i use that method all of the time, it loops and loops but once connected to the network it boots straighht into evox with the correct date and time, the exact time as on the computer, i use this all of the time as i usually switch of my xbox overnight as its not a problem to get out of the loop, i use a unex router connected via broadband, works 100% of the time, i think a lot of people have had success using this method, the xbox does check for the time via the lan, if it is not set, then just boots as normaly.

now out of about the 50 times i was in the loop this does it every time even at the start using the original fonts
