First of all to the people who live their lives around one thing - reading these forums and searching for questions so that they can tell you to search the forum, please shut the hell up and go get a girlfriend.  You'll find it's a very enjoyable experience.  Get your ass out of the monitor lame ass!  I've had this problem too so I KNOW it hasn't been covered very well in the forums and if it was, I personally don't know the magic word to plug into the search engine to find it and not 200 other threads!  So post a link to where it's at or go get laid!  I'm about sick of this type of responce.

Now, I'll try to answer the problems that this thread was made for because I had them too.

For HDD driver, when you see the box with the infinite errors, just pretend it isn't there.  If you're trying to restore a drive, just click on tools and restore and it should work.  NOTE:  My sich was even worse than yours because hdd driver didn't even SEE an xbox hard drive and my restore worked.

But after reading the forum, I would suggest that you go the xlinux route.  People here are saying they are liking it.  I myself am gona play with it and see how she goes.

I'll have you know that I HAVE a fiance. I do not spend my life in front of the PC or these forums.

Look, I HATE Linux, but given a 20 second search, 10 minutes of reading, and a blank CD, I used XLinux when HDD Driver would do nothing for me.

If you actually take the time to read, just a half an hour if you have some clue what to look for, you will often learn enough to answer your own questions, then and in the future. If you want to flame people because they give a nudge in the right direction and leave it to the person to figure it out, thats your problem. Sorry but I see it as the best way to learn.

You think it takes a long time to read through all this stuff? How long do you think it would take to WRITE it? Ok to answer this question I'll take an hour to write a tutorial that exists in at least 3 versions already. Or post a link, I thought you wanted me to "Get your ass out of the monitor lame ass!", not spend MORE time looking things up for you!

As far as your magic words... Try "XLinux and tutorial".... Since that may possibly be what you are looking for.

I don't want to be an ass, and I'm not trying to blow these people off. I'm trying to encourage them to learn how to use the forums to their advantage. If people read the many tutorials on this and other things and still don't get what needs to be done, well, they shouldn't try to mod their box. This is not because of some 1337 attitude, but because i would rather see these people continue to have a working XBox.
