Considering I screw myself over when I try and tinker with my existing installations(will likely be nuking my box for the 2nd time tomorrow), I love this idea.  It'll make upgrades a heck of a lot easier so I won't have to see that ugly Error 13 anymore.

Just looking at the screen shots on your webpage, its looking quite good. Make sure if people are trying to use their F drive that they are aware they have to format it.

Oh, and I would love to see the inclusion of a version of dvd2xbox and/or boxXplorer in it as well so that people without lan could install the exploit, and then be able to continue to install new stuff too.

I remeber seeing something on xboxmediaplayer.de about an autoinstall app for homebrew, once you've got this working, maybe that could be an easy extension, so people could just through in a cd and evox would auto-install it?

(I dont have a lan, i just use boxXplorer and xISO)

Hi, I might sound weird but I'm new at xbox hacking and I'm trying to survive into all of this. Now tell me where I'm wrong in what I think...

This phoenix bios doesn't need to have a mod chip.
IT doesn't stop you from playing any original game (I don't care about the copies)
You can still watch your dvd on it.
You can install your own app.
You can backup your original xbox settings and restore it so it get back like if there was nothing.

I'm sure I'm wrong somewhere into this, and I would like to know. What I'm looking for is a way to use xbox media player without putting a mod chip in it so I would be able to watch my divx on my big screen instead of my 14' laptop but I want to still be able to play with my games so I don't want those mod chip, any idea?

Nope... Everything you said about it is correct.  Now the two exploits you can choose to use to boot the phoenix bios loader is either the font hack or the audio hack.  The font hack will boot the phoenix bios loader when you turn your xbox on.  (This of course has the downfall that if your xbox is unplugged for long periods of time you may get stuck in the endless loop problem), or the Audio hack (using the audio hack the downfall is you have to put in a audio cd everytime you want to boot the phoenix bios loader and you no longer will be able to copy cd tracks to your xbox's hard disk through the MS dashboard.)

Thats it...

Just an update....

I have finally got the GUI functioning the way I would like it to.
If you want to download a demo GUI that lets you click and play with it I have it available on the web site.

http://woogerworks.servehttp.com/epi

Like I mentioned it lets you click and it will show you your options you choose when you click install.  It wont actually make any configuration files or do any configurations.

Have Fun

Hey wooger,

The gui looks great, kudo's to you on a great effort.

I do have a problem though, I know it is only a demo and is just there to view functionality but I cant get it to run.  When I try I get a Run Time error, automation error "the specified module cannot be found".

Is this because I have not put bios, dash etc... in the folders?

sorry I forgot to mention, I am running XP and have visual studio.net 2002 installed

Once again great work.

Hmm... Thats odd... does the error happen upon bootup or does it happen after clicking a certain button or drop down?

Also what version of the XP are you running?

The only module that I included when I compiled the program was the MD5 Module.  Its not even being used in the demo.  I just happened to put it in and let it static link it so I could get a feel for how large the application would be at the moment.

Thanks,
Wooger

Seems to work fine for me. Looks awsome. Can't wait until it is released!!!

Suggestion to everyone testing. When you respond leave your system info. THis should help debug probs that some people are having. Maybe it's system related.

works fine for me... Looks really good so far

Suggestion: add "Alternate bios"  (= AltRomfile in boot.cfg)

Also what you are going to include with the installer - eeproms, bioses, rc4, evox?
