Tutorial:how To Link The Ms Dashboard To Evox
« Reply #45 on: August 10, 2003, 10:35:00 AM »

Er, shoulda said I tried that too.

I tried leaving the two menu lines as is so that it says

Section "MS Dash"
{
Item "MS Dashboard [NO FONT FOLDER]","c:3944dash.xbe"
Item "MS Dashboard [HAS FONT FOLDER]","c:4920dash.xbe"
}

and I added the two lines to the [MISC] section so it said:

AudioPlayer = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"

Didn't work.

I also tried changing all four lines to reflect "c:msxboxdash.xbe"

This also did not work.

Thank you for the quick reply though.  Any other ideas?

My hex-edited and newly-signed xboxdash.xbe is called "msxboxdash.xbe" and is on the root C: drive.

So, yes, everything is correctly pointing to "C:msxboxdash.xbe" as that is what I have named and where I have put the edited xboxdash.xbe.

With everything pointing to the new file...when I select it in the evo-x menu, it just sits there with that green "web" as if frozen (which, I guess, it is).

REPLACE WITH THIS IN YOUR  EVOX.INI
[Misc]

AutoLaunchAudio   = No
#AudioPlayer   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:msxboxdash.xbe"
UseFDrive   = Yes
SkinName   = PostImm
IGR      = No
UseItems   = Yes
ScreenSaver   = 0
#SkinName   = RuDeDuDe2
Fahrenheit   = Yes
ShadeLevel   = 90

[IGR]

Start_Button   = Yes
Back_Button   = Yes
L_Trig      = Yes
R_Trig      = Yes
White_Button   = No
Black_Button   = No
A_Button   = No
B_Button   = No
X_Button   = No
Y_Button   = No

[Network]

OR USE A DIFFERENT EVOX INI. (like the one that comes with evox and not the one that comes with pheonix)

Just wondering HAS IT BEEN CLARIFIED THIS TUTORIAL WORKS?? Because since this would be such a big fix i think it's strange i haven't seen the hype around it. And there was a guy that said it DIDN'T work. So what do you say, isn't the loop-problem an issue anymore or am i just tired not understanding anything???

wink.gif  so in your hex edit you will see something like "x.t.f" where each dot is a null character.

Now let's go see some DVDs! Weee!  pop.gif
