Okay i have been hanging around these forums since i got my xbox but i only recently decided to register.  Then this new exploit came out and i must admit its quite impressive . Anyway i decided to gie it a go and i must say that the audio exploit requires i a little more work than the font one but i feel it is better.  I put it on updated to PBL 1.2 and have had plain sailing from there.  Modified my evox.ini so when i clicked load MS dashboard it reloaded the PBL loader so i could switch between bioses. All i can say to people out there who are thinking of trying this exploit GO WITH THE AUDIO... so far it has no deadly xbox bugs (unlike the font method).  Also only one official xbox file has to be altered and this file doesn't effect the xbox booting .

Apart from the fact it can get stuck in a loop.  It loads everytime without fail, not had it crash on me once and it still allows me to keep my original dash.

Font exploit pissed me off too many times rebooting, newest fonts don't even have the clock issue 100% resolved. Tried audio and no problems at all, and for playing music cds (which I dont on xbox, I didnt even know it could) xbmp works great.

I don't know, us here with the fonts.. might beat you at this. Because eventually, the clock loop will be fixed permenently, and we won't need the 10 button config to load our hacked bios. Just smooth sailing.

Oh and I have unplugged my xbox several times, because I pack it away every now and then, and I haven't gotten the clock loop once. It just loads the dash with 7/4/03.

ok if i understand, the only benefit for the Audio Exploit is XBOXLIVE ?

im using xbconnect and xlink, because im already paying for my internet connection ... and i will NEVER pay to play on the internet.
wich one do ihave to try ? ( Audio or Fonts)

another thing ... what's the problem if the XBOX clock hasn't the right time ?

XBOXLIVE works with the fonts without problems, as long you boot
the Games directly or have a font hack that restores the BIOS once
the XBEs have started. Or run a Retail BIOS with it...

And if you fear MS detecting the font hack... Well its much easier for
them to find the AUDIO exploit on your harddisk than the font hack.

The AUDIO hack is one static filename to open and to check.
The Font hack at least needs a directory scan...

And if you go LIVE with backups with any of these ways
you can be sure that MS will detect it and you will have the
police knocking on your door, no matter what hack you use.
But as long you only play original games the worst thing MS
can do is to ban you from LIVE. And this is more or less
illegal in most countries of the world, because they would
have spyed on your harddisk content and have "reverse
engeneered" the font hack. These files are not from MS
and they break the DMCA when they check them for the hack.

Nope, it's actually kind of illegal to put the files onto the XBox in the first place, as anything you put on there automatically becomes property of M$.  Putting the files on your HD is breaking the font's right under the DMCA, as you're giving M$ full access to look at/reverse engineer the font hack.  Don't believe me?  Read the EULA.  Besides, the code from the font hacks have been published all over the internet... there's nothing stopping M$ much less a 7-year-old kid from knowing how it works.  

When you connect to live, you're agreeing to the EULA presented by MS.  In the EULA it states that MS has the right to do anything they want to the XBox, including updating your BIOS, directory scanning, file deletion... not to mention Banning from XBL

the way i figure is after you purchase the xbox you should beable to do what you want it as long as you dont start pirating games and all that bab stuff.

The MS EULA is FUD. Everything you can read there is not worth
the paper it is printed on in most countries of the world.

I will not connect to LIVE, because I am not going to give MS money
for a service that should be free. But I can assure you, that if MS
does anything to break my box I will send them to court.

If MS wants to stay the owner of the XBOX there is only one way
they must rent it to you otherwise I bough it, I own it and I will
do whatever I want it...
