enter the matrix refuses to play from hdd.  opening atari logo can be heard but not seen, then just freezes on black screen.

and evox igr is turned off rolleyes.gif

nsn

you have to use avalaunch to FTP the files to your HDD because EvoX cant handle the long file names. i tried this and it works 100% of the time.  also make sure its patched for the new media flag. once you do that you should be able to launch it from Evox or any other dash.  if i could only get it to work off DVD-R's... (just get weird errors like black screen with "!!UNKNOWN!!" or dirty disc error)

BTW this was tested on my v1.0 box with evox 3285 & a first gen chip with an old as bios. have yet to test it with pheonix bios loader.  but so far i've had no problems with that.

i did use avalaunch to move the files from my pc.  my problem isn't playing the game from hdd with a modchip...that's no problem.  it's getting it to play from hdd using only phoenix bios loader.

as far as patching for the media flag, x2 4977 does that automatically...verified by the fact that I can play it with my modchip which is flashed with that bios, and also because that's what that bios was made for mostly was for a quick and easy fix to the media check.

if i remember correctly i think that game is too large to fit on a dvd-r without cutting some stuff out?  maybe not, don't remember.  but the long filenames might have something to do with that as well...

Alright question...I have 3 Boxes 1 with mod 2 without until the pheonix bios loader. For some reason i cannot get the multi-game Dvd+rs to work..any solutions? huh.gif

1...does it play DVD+Rs at all?  it might be an incompatibility with even certain brands of DVD+R.
2...there has to be an option within evox.ini that boots straight to disc while in evox.  I used to have  a .ini that started a game by resetting and booting first from the disc.  This wouldn't work with phoenix bios loader, it'll boot retail games like this but not unsigned code like that cuz it hasn't loaded the new bios from hdd yet when done this way.
3...will they not work on any of the xboxes?  cuz the mod one should not have this limitation mentioned in 2.  if it don't work there, then it might be your drive won't play DVD+R or it might not play that brand of DVD+R, a la #1.

yeah man smooth,

It works if  you download one of the released ones, but no matter what steps i take to backup my origonal it dosent work. Also, it has a dash update on it, so be careful if you do use it.

you can delete all of the other .xbe's in games or atleast it has always worked for me.  I just take leave the default.xbe and rar up the other ones just in case.

the phoenix loader uses x2 4977... could this be the reason why i can't load Enter the Matrix (legit disc) from within evox. If i leave the game in there at bootup, it will launch the game and I can see video... if I launch it through loader->Evox... you can hear sound but no video... and I have disabled IGR in Evox.ini.

I'm still running PBL(Phoenix Bios Loader) v1.0 with bert and ernie reloaded. I can play the game normally if it boots up, but if i want to back it up on DVD+R I'm affraid it won't run since I would have to use PBL.

Thx in advance

I've been unable to get Burnout 2 to work.  I've made 4 different ISOs using xISO1.15, XBOX ISO v1.3, ISO Maker 2.0, and Craxtion (tried patching, but i hear that makes no difference for my bios), none of which have gotten any further than the initial boot up screen, then jumping right to a dirty disc error.

I see some people have gotten this to work, and not gotten other games to work that I have.  I'm running a v1.0 and 1.1 box with X2.2 lite, 4976.02.  Burnout2 is the only game that has given me any trouble, and judging from this thread, it seems that the only thing I haven't tried is the pheonix loader.  Is it possible that the game needs that bios in order to run without that error?  Is it a result of a bad iso?  Or is it something entirely different?  I've only made 3 backups... so i'm a regular newb at this ^^

Thanks

I had the exact same problem... place the files on the PC again... could be a combination of a bad file being copied over and poor ISO creation software... use SimpleXiso... that did the trick for me... dirty cd message is gone.

i cant seem to get midnight club 2 to work either. i backed it up on my hard drive and then tried loading it from evolution-x dash and the little green x comes up from loading, stays there for a long time and then it goes back to the dashboard. i tried media check modding it but it says 0 bytes written on all the xbe's so i assume it to not need the check flag changed? anything else im doing wrong? i have the newest evolution x, and i copied it with boxplorer .96 , and i have matrix modchip with D.6 bios.

Something else I noticed - but no one else talks about - is that since the installation of the Phoenix/Bigfontz I wasn't able to load my savegames on the hd with a few backups. Until now, the list is:

= SAVEGAMES KO =
Burnout 2
Starsky And Hutch

= SAVEGAMES OK =
Dead to rights
Halo
Project Gotham Racing

Any ideas?

I've noticed this too.  Burnout 2 refuses to load my saved game when using the phoenix bios loader.  It's the only game that's given me this trouble so far.
KotOR and Halo (the only others that i've tried) have both loaded their saved games properly.
