Tutorial: How To Install Phoenix Loader
« Reply #242 on: August 11, 2003, 12:23:00 AM »

OK been trying this from your Tutorial all night.  No worky;
here is what i have in my C: drive of the xbox;

Audio folder
fonts fold
phoenicboot folder
skin folder
xboxdashdata(original haven't touchhed it)
xodash folder
boot.cfg
default.xbe
evox.ini
evoxdash.xbe
phoenix.raw
xbox.xft
xbox book.xft
xboxrom.bin

and when i load up the evox using the mechassault exploit
it works just fine and i can ftp in using FLASHXP no problem.
the problem is when i reboot it just goes right to the xbox logo.  I tried taking out mechassualt and then rebooting the system, and I get error 13.  I did everything the tut. but still no worky. And just to let you know i did used the signed phoenix loader off of that foreign site.

what file does the xbox look for when booting up? I assume its the evox.ini or it should be because its a .ini file,  and if that were the case it should just boot directly into the evo-x dash,correct me if I am wrong. Somebody please help, post a follow up or PM me if you can lend a hand.

Sorry for the long post, Just looking for some help getting the phoenix loader to work. Thanks in advance.

Is there an easy way to restore the system to it's original status?
I have followed the steps in this tutorial and everything works fine but what if I want to restore to the original?

PS. I do have a complete backup on my PC.

Thanks for the help.

vintage- I did change the xboxdash.xbe through the hexeditor, and after i put that it in the E root directory.
But that is the only file I put in the E directory.  I am unaware of any others, could you pm about thoses or post follow up.
Thanks

ok did click SAVE after editing  AT ALL in xboxdash.xbe on drive C or did you not touch it? if you touched it make sure too resign it

-also..make sure your evox.ini is referring too the file you've edited (if you've edited it)
