The only thing now is that someone needs to fix the "Run DVD Game" error. You cant´start a game unless you first start a emu or something that can send you back out to the dash. (how did pheonix miss that?)

QUOTE (night10379 @ Jul 19 2003, 02:30 PM)
All works except for being able to run the MS dash from the loader.  Am I missing an edit in the evox.ini?

This is a hex edit you need to do to your m$ dash.  you have to hex edit occurrences of x.t.f. to x.f.t. or something like that, resign the dash using xbedump, rename it to something like msdash.xbe, and point your evox.ini at it again.

I haven't done this yet...mainly because I'm trying to track down if you're supposed to edit all occurrences of x.t.f. or only the first one or what....it's different for different dash versions.

anyway, there's a thread full of info on this one..it's pinned, go check it out.

SUCCESS!!

I'm a total noob, found this thread this morning, and tonight I've loaded the EvoX bio and Pheonix loader, games work everything works, except the MS-Dash.

I have a version 1.0, my HD said 3944 on the back so i guess that's the kernel??

I had never touched my xbox before this, I followed the tutorial step by step. Except for the part about the fonts folder, and I didn't update my dashboard. For people without a fonts folder, like Kamel said, just drop evrything into your systems folder.

I renamed the Audio folder to Skin, and another folder to PheoniX, and just to confirm, this does work.

HDD Driver Crashed alot, but it worked.

The hex offset's were perfect, thanks to whoever compiled those.

Files I used were:
Bert and Ernie Reloaded
Complete_Signed_Phoenix_Bios_Loader

winhex was a BITCH to find.

this kicks ass, I can't wait to go get my crossover cable tomorrow.

THANK YOU!

few questions about this hack. Im sort of new to this.

1. I want to use the latest evolutionx_v1_8_3752 with this method. Can i just replace evoxdash.xbe in the signed phoenix rar file with the latest one. No signing or anything needed?

2. Im gonna be using the bigfonts file dated jully 22 instead of the bert/ernie reloaded. Is that ok ?

3. What exactly is the DVD remote problem?

4. Do I have to sign the games i copy to the the hdd with -font to play them later?

Thanks

yes
yes
you can't run dvd's through M$'s viewer (you have to use dvdx)
If you do the bios hack, you do not

About the x.f.t. thing. You have to redo all instances, and rename the file "newdash.xbe" then link your programs to it!

When I was using the bios hack with bigfonts, the clock ticked, and it never rebooting, so I guess that is fine.

I installed the Phoenix loader as per the instructions and when I turn on my box the animation comes up (well the first time, then after that just the Phoenix graphic) but Evo never comes up, it just hangs at the picture screen.  Any ideas?  I have followed the instructions to the letter but still nothing.

Someone on Xbox-hacker.net mentioned the RC4 key needs to be changed from the standard 000's that it has in there as standard but the instructions don't mention that.

ANy ideas?

the same EXACT thing happened to me, and there is an easy fix.  download the pheonix audio exploit from the normal place or find the complete signed pheonix loader v1.2 if you can, either of these have a file called boot.cfg thats also in the file you dl'ed.  the diff b/t the files is if you open your boot.cfg with a text editor, you'll see a bunch of 0x00's, which is bad.  if you open up the version from one of the files i told you to dl, you'll see nbrs instead, which is good.  all you hve to do is upload this file to overwrite the one on your xbox right now, and you should be good to go.

i got complete phoenix bios loader v1.2 and when i copied i noticed that i already have the default.xbe from evox. but phoenix loader comes with a default.xbe.  i dont know if thats evoX already or what, but i'm scared to replace them. i wanted some feedback before i did something stupid, thanx...

Edit

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH STUPID PHOENIX FROZE, i replaced the evox and used the signed one that came with the complete loader, i even used the boot file that had the keys on it and it still froze!!!!!!! now what do i do????
