mine's fine, ive been able to reset and backup multiple games w/o it fixin the time.... use XBMP for ftp, it actually lets u see D:, complex and evoX jsut double the C drive (for me anyway)

for running the backups u probably need to use a media flag patcher on it (check xbins) and xbedump to resign it

Have you tried running a backup game after creating one?  It wont attempt to update the XBox's time will it?

Also could you check your evox.ini file and see if theres a line in there that says "SNTP_Server= "
Im thinking since I had that line Evox updated the time like its supposed to.

Also this would imply that the Loader-Complex Dash wont be needed at all to authenticate the drive for reading.
Which I knew this ... but if you choose to use something like XBox Media Player as the FTP serving program you should be able to put the Loader-Complex Ver 1.0 on the box as an App option... boot into the Loader dash when you want to play games... and now since its 1.0 .... it will do the font exploit on the fly

It may work... must try...

Since backups are not originals... it wont boot at start up and you just have to sign the default.xbe and run the game from evox... I have created sucessful backups of Halo and DOAXVB.

My evox does not update my time no matter how many times I reboot... I have denied my xbox access to the internet by blocking its IP address on my router... also i believe you need to select NO in the ini file for Switch to MSDash(or something like that)...

Yes complex will freeze up once in a while... try connecting to the xbox once in complex first before authenticating...

Never thought about blocking the xbox from getting out....
Ill try deleting the SNTP line first.  Since SNTP = "xxx" is telling evox were to go to look for a time clock to sync with.

Anyone get the impression that if you have a 4817 model and you dont want to install a mod chip or crack the xbox... you have to "jump through hoops" to get your xbox to authenticate the drive for backup purposes?

Complex just needs to release a newer version...

I think its like this for anything past 4034... I had a hell of a time on my 5051... so it will work... just need patience... this is the key with this method.

wooger... becareful in just removing that setting in the evox ini file... there could be something built into the xbox that wants to get the time on its own... the regular dash is still trying to launch and does already have your network settings installed... so it may get the time on its own from the internet somehow... I would restric internet access to the xbox completely to make sure you don't waste so much time resting your xbox. Just an idea.

smile.gif, Well I have set up several 4817 . This is what i did. 1st off do the  007/Mech hack (duh). 2nd ; I copy the bert & ernie reloaded files to the font folder on c drive. 3rd; I then rename the original  (XBox Book.xtf & xbox.xtf) to the XFT extension.  4th; I made a copy of the xboxdash.xbe & signed the copy with the xbedump (ex. xbedump xboxdash.xbe -font). U then rename the out.xbe to SigDash.xbe or whatever u want 2. After that u must hex edit the SigDash.xbe & change xtf to xft (it's located in several places so make sure u find them all).5th; I then copied the SigDash.xbe &  complex !loader 1.1 over 2 the c drive. 6th I also copied evox over 2 the c drive.  Make sure that complex is setup for the default.xbe & evox is evoxdash.xbe. Once thats done go into the complex.cfg file and change these settings

<dashboard>
   <autoboot>true</autoboot>
   <path>c:Evoxdash.xbe</path>
</dashboard>

This will cause complex 2 load 1st then launch evox. Now go into the evox.ini file & change these settings

AudioPlayer   = "c:SigDash.xbe"
MSDashBoard   = "c:SigDash.xbe"
That way u have access 2 the MSdashboard like TIME, game saves etc.

Now the Original dash is still on the c drive. Plez make sure that  it is.  when this is a done correctly, I can now boot complex & it autolaunches evox. Evox now behaves like a it normally does with a mod chip. It can sense the different types of dics like Video & games with no problems. I then go2 the launch DVD menu & it plays the dvds fine (Video & games). This should help out the 4817 people. If some-1 has a 5051 plez let me know how it works out. I'm going 2 try the same thing on it as soonas i get my hands on 1.

Have fun  cool.gif .

Oh yeah almost 4got.  Backup your files.

u can learn something from everybody smile.gif.

I can't get the method Edge7 explained to work.  Every time Evox boots it does reset the time on my box.
Guess I will just have to block the Internet from the xbox and try it.  Though if this is the case for Edges fix I dont know if I like his method per say.  I'm wanting to start playing games on XB Link or something similar to it.

Actually.... I had a hell of a time hex editing it by hand...
I downloaded this little program that will edit it automaticly.

Can your XBox drive D authenticate an original game disc to allow you to copy the files over to the harddrive?
ie Can your ftp access the D drive and NOT get the VIDEO_TS thing?

I did the exact same thing with my k4817. It can run the games from drive D etc, just that i cant look into the drive to copy the files over.

Is there a need to sign the hacked xboxdash.xbe course the complex loader is already loaded prior to this and it should patch it on the fly?

Hello smile.gif. If u want to copy game. then use complex refresh option then manually launch evox . If u want to run a game use the method I just described. There a difference between Launching a game & copying a game. He wanted a way 2 launch not copy. So upon that question i just gave the answer.

So your saying in the 4817 model you can take and launch the loader 1.0 with bert and ernie reloaded.
Stick a game in the drive.  Hit the Y button to refresh the TOC.
Then launch Evox and ftp into it pulling the game information off?

wooger... remember that you are only going to do this to backup games... once you have your games backed up... you can allow internet access to the xbox and play on.
