So if this has worked for you .... are you able to authenticate the drive after you reset the clock?  Or does it stop if you reset it?

you can only authenticate the dvd if the original disc is inside the drive when it boots... and the only way to do this without the game booting is losing time... so once you backup your game and restore the time... you may boot up original games now by having the disc inside at boot, but you will have to lose time again next time you want to backup a game.

I know it sux, but its a way in.

The only thing that bothers me about this fix is the fact that I have had an xbox that once it lost the clock time it wouldnt boot the dash again... even with the bert and ernie reloaded.

It was on a phillips drived xbox.

The xboxdash also was an odd size as well but showed to be a 4920 dash.  Didnt match the other 4920's.

speed... that is correct... evox will always allow you in to change anything back to normal.

QUOTE
The other day, I tried to exploit my friend's 3944 kernel box and got the same damn frozen Loader problem when I used the new .dll. I would like to be able to tell him that I can now do it for him but will he be able to run backup games and apps off of the HD with this?

OK jimbo... to put it simply... I have not been sucessful in loading backups on my buddys xbox (3944)... i have tried many diffrent configs, without any luck... it just doesnt work yet... not even if you use FreeXevox only which is the way I launch backup now with my 5051. If you simply want loader to work with ur 3944... use the original EVOX-4034.DLL file that came with the complex... but it wont sign or run anything at the time.

QUOTE
Also, I'm a little confused how the FreeXEvox release works... you say you don't need to rename the bert and ernie files but I've always had to rename them to Xbox Book.xtf and Xbox.xtf (then again, I haven't been using the FreeXEvox release, I've been using Phoenix's). Also, you say you need to lose time but won't your xbox go on a never ending re-set loop after you lose the time? That's what happened to me when I was using the Reloaded files earlier

I have not loaded complex as my dash... so it may be the reason for the endless reboot... with the reloaded files and FreeXEvox(basically Evox that uses the font exploit) I have recieved the Evox Dash every time... even though i let both xbox sit unplugged for over 24 hours. You do not need to rename bert and ernie, but if you do not rename xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf your xbox will always see those files first... so in order for the xbox to ignore them... just change the extension to xft on both files. Then just hack the original dash file as per krakens turorial...(please guys read the pin ups... alot of good info in there... I have only owned an xbox since July 4th.... this is all new to me, but I love to read these forums)

I hope this clears up a few things... let me know if you need further explanations.

one more thing guys... DO NOT FREAK OUT IF THE FIRST TIME YOU BOOT THE XBOX... YOU SEE THE XBOX SCREEN THEN JUST REBOOTS AND GOES BACK TO THE XBOX SCREEN AGAIN...this is normal... it may hapen a once or twice the first time you try to boot a game... just let it cycle and it will jump into Evox... This has happened on both the 3944 and the 5051... just relax and enjoy backing up your games.

Havent had time to look into the evox.ini file but is there a way to turn the clock updating off?
Plus if this is a method... its going to be kind of a pain cause of the reseting ... but its a way  dry.gif
