cd dev and then it shows the devices?...

Once in xlinux, if you go to /dev you should see hda50 hda51 hda52... and hdc# say hdc1

I'm trying to do that ^   can you tell me exactly how I would go about doing something like that?

Ok, if you've done cd /dev then.....

To list all the devices type:

ls -al

If the list of devices exceeds your scrollbuffer then pipe the listing into less program:

ls -al | less
