Help With Install
« on: December 27, 2004, 11:17:00 AM »

Ok... i flashed the chip with the x-chip 1.3 bios, put it into my 1.0 box with the solderless adapter and its not working. First I put it in and powered it up with nothing connected, the box booted 3 times and then turned off.

Then I reconnected everything and it just booted to the xboxdash like a retail xbox.

Next i reseated the solderless adapter and chip and connected only the HD and then booted, i saw the flubber animation and then is said my xbox needed service in a bunch of languages down the screen.

I think it might be the D0 wire or else it wouldnt boot to the original xbox bios right? I don't know what else it could be. If anyone could help that would be great!

nvm. I got it working, all i did was bend the d0 wire so it went in at more of an angle. now it works like a charm.

Try to make the D0 wire look like in the X-chip Master Install Guide. It clearly shows that an angle is reguired so that the wire is making good contact on the outer ring of the D0 hole in the Xbox motherboard.
