I don't think it's his bios, it would still show 137 gb of space, minus what the xbox takes.  And It's not 17 gb of space..... Maybe you got ripped off with your hdd.  I would bring it back and complain.

????

it probably is the bios!,

look this up, its been done to death!

if you've got ONLY 137 gig total, thats an LBA 48 limit
people but 120 giggers because thats the cheapest/closest size to 137 gig available

get a 4979.67 or 4980.67 (LBA48 F+G bios) and the extra space will become available on G drive which you have to enable in Evox and format

with the .67 bios, you wont looose whats on your F drive!

and besides, 160 hard drive manufacturers gigabytes is only about 149 REAL gigabytes!, then add the overhead of the filesystem and you get maybe 145 gigabytes available!

god dammit, do you NOT read

get a 4979.67 or 4980.67 (LBA48 F+G bios) and the extra space will become available on G drive which you have to enable in Evox and format

reflash your bios   reflash your bios  reflash your bios

slayers is the dashboard installer, doesnt have anything to do with amount of space available or the bios used. IF the bios doesnt support bigger hard drives, IT WONT SUPPORT A BIGGER HARD DRIVE

if however you relflash your bios with a bios that has been written to support bigger hard drives, then i'd hazard a guess that the unused space will become available on your 160 gigger

so, to reiterate

get a 4979.67 or 4980.67 (LBA48 F+G bios)

flash your chip

voila, a G drive

format the G drive

refoice at the extra now found few gigabytes

Have a nice day now

Seriously, I read up on slayers 2.5 and it does have the patch included in the autoloader as far as I can tell.  The option that I was using to format >137 should have worked.  I tried it on F, and both  C/F and got the same results both times.  At this point, I'm not sure what to do.

Well I checked my xbox last night, and the slayers 2.5 dash shows that my bios are set for >137gb.  Still, I'm only showing 120gb in F.  However, I did notice that there are like 28gb in G.  I'm not quite sure what I did wrong, if I did anything wrong at all. uhh.gif   I know this is a noob question, but why is 28gb in G when I formatted the F drive?  Please, someone help.

because you used a bios that formats to G and F

get 4980.06 and reformat, it will all go to F

if you have a g partition or a big F is dependant on the bios you use, and your using one that has a G, this means everything up to 137 gigs will go to your F partition, and the remaining space will be dumped onto a G partition and it sounds like your all set with everything, there is no real need to make a big F if you already have a working G.
