I am playing with the complex/ernie and bert reloaded and evox on one of my xboxes. The box has an X-ecuter 1 chip in it already, so its not big deal for me to get out of any problems caused by the dashboard exploits. However, I would like to get the xbox working in a state that is not dependent on the mod-chip. The clock reset problem is preventing me from doing this. Here is what I have installed Kernel=4034, Dash=4920 (live updated). I am using the complex loader with the new patch to auto-launch evox. In the fonts folder, I have the following ernie.xtf, bert.xtf (reloaded), and ernie.xtf and bert.xtf (reloaded) renamed to xbox book.xtf and xbox.xtf, and xbox.xft and xbox boot.xft (to load M$ dash) (all with the appropriate extension, at the moment I forget whether it is xft or xtf, and I am at work, so I can't spend much time trolling the forum to find the correct one). The xbox boots up fine, and auto-launches evox, it runs all unsigned code. works great. What still isn't working is the clock fix. I left the box unplugged overnight as a test, and this morning it was doing the constant reboot again. has anyone gotten reloaded to successfully set the clock after the clock has been cleared?

So I can leave bert and ernie reloaded in there, and delete the other ones? I originally tried renaming bert and ernie to xbox and xbox book, but that wasn't working, so I just copied ernie and bert in there with them, and it seemed to be working becuz the light began flashing red after that (that was before I installed complex). Also, I have seen the time set to July 4th by the font files, but not after a full clock clearing (I think). I left it unplugged for about 2 hrs and plugged it back in. I checked the time and it said July 4th. Previously the time was set to July 13th. This led me to believe the font fix was working. I wanted to make sure the clock was cleared, so I left it unplugged overnight. This morning I began having the reboot problem again. So apparently the font patch was doing something. Has anyone gotten the clock fix to work period? How did you test that it actually worked?

Hey.... you just gave me an idea.

I think the exploits, to be 'perfect' should patch the name of the dashboard used.

Then the exploit only needs to boot once on power up, and it would immediately REBOOT after patching the BIOS to boot the alternate dashboard - as a dashboard. Thus solving the clock issue.

I'll have to post this as a separate thread, but I thought I'd let you know... and thanks.

So, the clock is set to July 4th, but your system keeps rebooting? It doesn't sound like much of a fix for the clock problem at all. How do you load an M$ signed dash without a modchip?

Ok. I have the same exploit in the Same dir twice. I have ernie and bert, as ernie and bert, and ernie and bert renamed. Tonight I will try deleting one of them and see if it helps.

Ok, I deleted the other 2 xtf files in the fonts dir, so now I have ernie.xtf, bert.xtf and xbox.xft and xbox book.xft. I want to be very specific, that bert and ernie have NOT been renamed to xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf. Same reboot problem persists. I will be very specific, the clock set screen begins to load, and then the system reboots.

Is it not designed for the 4034 kernel? This is from the Complex nfo file.

Can you please define "works". Has your clock reset completely? what is your system configuration? What font files are you using, exactly what are they named. and you booting straight evox, or trying to go through the complex !loader? I would like some help on this issue.
