Read around a little bit more before you panic. Your xbox will still boot a dashboard from a disc. Put your evolution x disc in and it will boot. Then ftp to your xbox and fix your mistake.

It should boot up games, no matter what you renamed default.xbe to. It never touches that file if you boot with a game in your dvddrive. So if you have the mechassault or 007 save hack on your box, just boot one of thoose games. The other thing is to do the hdd hotswap, it should unlock your hdd even if it can´t boot up fully. Some people say the hdd is unlocked when at the moment the lcd stop flashing, but i don´t know if its any truth to that. So try that and just install your backups again.

Yes, whats all this about a evox boot disk? Does´nt that only work if you have a chip installed?

ok let me explain this in lehmans(sp?) terms..............

my xbox WILL NOT boot with or w/out a disc in it. Last time I messed up I was still able to get it to boot 007 disc and I fixed everything. This time it does not boot at all. I put in disc and turn off power, then turn power back on and still no boot. Comprende? LOL

HAH! I have no idea! It really doesnt matter though cause I cant get access to my xbox at all. I guess I will have to either get a new xbx or mess with my hdd to fix this. thnx though.

Just do a hdd hotswap and reinstall the backups that you hopefullly made, and you should be ok.

yeah well i got a new plan of attack. first off I am getting a new xbox tomorrow cause I GOTTA have an xbox when NCAA 2004 comes out this week. Second off I am going to do a HDD swap for the 180gb HDD i bought last week when I first thought I messed up. Then I am going to try this hack once more on that xbox and if it doesnt work im going to just break down and buy a mod chip.

erikman no use trying to get him to understand..

textbum just do the damn hotswap with either HDD Driver on WinXP or 2K or hotswap with xlinux. Those tutorials you should find already pinned.

ANd yes you still can hotswap without your dashboard. Just let it sit for 5-10 minutes at whatever screen you're staring at.

With your carelessness I just suggest you get a damn modchip cause you don't seem to have done any reading and searching through the forums for the answers

yeah buddy you apparently didn't do your research because your new xbox will be v1.3. just buy a damn modchip if you can already afford a 180 gb hdd. what's the whole point if you have access to a new xbox since your girlfriend can buy you a new one huh?
