Please Help Me With Flash Fxp Problems
« on: December 21, 2004, 08:56:00 AM »

hey guys,
I have an xbox version 1.0 and i just got an xchip from easybuy2000. i got it installed without soldering. i have the xecuter2 bios on my xbox and the evolution x dashboard burned on to a dvd+r that i loaded into my xbox. i got both of those to work but now im trying to ftp into my xbox and im having some problems. im a total newb to all this stuff, and my friend has helped me out alot. but when it comes to this problem we are both stumped. I am using a crossover cable to connect my computer to my xbox. I only have 1 NIC in my pc. i use it to connect to my router most of the time, but my router will connect either a hard line or it will connect wirelessly (linksys). so what im trying to do is use a crossover cable to connect my pc directly to the xbox. and im using a USB wireless adapter to connect my pc to the internet. ive fallowed all the instructions on several guides on how to use flash fxp. ive disabled passive mode completely, typed in my ip, typed in 21 for my port, set my username and password to xbox, and hit connect but when i do that it says "® connection failed (connection timed out)". ive read several forums and tried some different things like trying to ping my xbox. i opened a command prompt and typed "ping 192.168.0.22" and it says "pinging 192.168.0.22 with 32 bytes of data:" and then it says "request timed out" 4 different times.ive also tried changing my ip on my computer to something different than the xbox's and using the same subnet mask and same default gateway, but i had the same result with flash fxp. I only have the evaluation copy of flash fxp now but im planning on buying it because i plan on burning my xbox games onto dvd's, so im gonna need to use flash fxp alot. i also tried using smart ftp which i dont like as much as flash fxp but it didnt work either. it said basically the same thing as flash fxp, and i didnt even bother trying any others because i figure if i cant ping my xbox that somethign isnt right and its not gonna work no matter what program i try to ftp with. below is what my evox.ini file looks like. sorry for the long message, but i hope i have given you enough info to help me with this problem. and any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot guys. here is my evox. ini setup.
