If Hdd_drivers Can't Find Your Hd
« on: July 13, 2003, 07:31:00 AM »

I think I'm having lock problems. XP is taking a much longer time to load and I can see the drive in the system properties HDD_Driver can not see it and it's not listed in the drive list.  I have a couple questions:

1) Do you need and where do you get the ST310211A HDD drivers?  Seagate's site only has a wizard which I'm worried about using.

2) Most posts say to wait 5-10 minutes before disconnecting the IDE cable.  If the dash goes into dimmed mode have I waited too long? Is the HDD locked at that point?

Thanks

I had the exact same problem you had. Same HD version also. Just hot swap it in pause break mode. The windows drivers are fine.
