Hello all, my apologies in advance for beating a subject to death but I am really techinically challenged and after reading posts about how to flash my x-chip i'm still confused as hell.
Ok, earlier I installed a chameleon chip along with it's EvoX M7 bios but that was so simple. All I did was install the chip, burn the dummy bios and linux bios onto a dvd and pop it in the X then tell the cromwell bios to flash with the dvd's files and wallah! All is good!
Now, I have another X but the x-chip seems alot more complicated to install. I assume installing the chip is as easy as the chameleon, but this whole thing about flashing the bios is really confusing me.
I have:
- X-chip, usb adapter, solderless adapter
- EvoX v1.2 bios
- Slayers 2.6 final (I have no idea why i need this)
First question: Do I need to flash the chip's bios thru the usb adapter using x-controll or can I just burn the .bin file to dvd and proceed like way I did with the chameleon chip?
Second Question: What is the Slayers program for? I mean I want the feature that allows you to switch between the x-chip bios and the original bios when starting up the X so I guess this is what I need to do that but I'm not sure how.
Basically if someone could walk me thru the software part of the installation including all the programs I would need (and assuming I'm a 3yr. old) I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks ALOT for any help.
