Works (but haven't figured out how to ftp.)

Exploit: Bert is cheating on Ernie
How?: xlinux boot cd + hot swap
Kernel: 4034
Dash: 4034 (yup no need for live update 4920.. as said requirement in Bert is cheating on ernie. No need for font folder as they're already there on root folder)

What's more amazing to me is that I got it to work on a 466 Celeron from Compaq with WinME.

Maybe that's why I can't configure either LeapFTP or FlashXP on ME to work with my xbox.

So far I'm a linux newbie and all i can do is the hotswapping over and over again playing with the skins.

BTW. The only game I have is Halo but I have no problems loading it up through the Launch DVD Game option. Other than that too chicken shit to unplug the power.

Any newbies like me notice sometimes the forum search doesn't do exactly with you wanted to? Given a broad topic to find it'll find none.. one too specific.. it'll give you multiple finds..

Status: It worked once until I powercycled the xbox 4 hrs later.  Now I get error code 21.
Kernal: 4817
Dash: 4920
Exploit: Bert and Ernie w/ FreeX-evox dash

Unit rebooted about 5 times and then brought the Evo-X dash up.  I came home a few hours later, made some changes in the Evo-X settings through the dash, rebooted it and now it gets error code 21.  I restored the original evox.ini file I had put on before the settings changes, still same error.

Does anyone know how to get around this error code 21 or why it is coming up?  I felt better when my box just sat there and rebooted.

Update for me:

Last night I had to go through 45 min of power cycling until I booted
into Complex!Loader 1.1.  On my next reboot (without an internet connection
and being unable to synch to sntp) I took another 35 minutes to
boot.  Horrible.

Anyone know if the new bert and ernie really fix the looping?  Do they
preserve C!L1.1's eject-fix?

I really wonder why people need a reset on eject fix...

The original ernie and bert worked fine with XBMP and the 1.2 box
never resetted when I changed the CDRs...

It also fails to run audio CDs with a "service" error".  I'm starting to think that it's necessary to "restore" the audio folder...

Status: Working
Kernel: 4817
Dash: 4920
Exploit: Bert and Ernie: Reloaded w/ Evo-x default.xbe from BICOE.

I ran into problems at first and had to restore my drive cuz it worked once and booted to an error 21 constantly.  After the restore, I just renamed the xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf files, put the two Bert and Ernie .xtf files into the fonts dir, default.xbe and evox.ini into the root dir.  Reboot.  It displays the xbox logo stuff, goes to boot the MS dash, hangs and goes black, then evo-x gets loaded.  Worked like magic.    I'm glad I backed up...you gotta be stupid not to.

Working...to an extent.

Xbox Version: V1.0
Kernel: 3944
Dash: 3752
Exploit: Bert and Ernie: Reloaded w/ Free-Evox

The Bert and Ernie: Reloaded font files managed to actually bring me to Evox as opposed to a flat out black screen for the original version.  Also, I no longer receive any infinite reboots since it sets the clock to July 4th everytime as it stated in the readme.

Bugs/Problems at the moment:
-Choosing to go into the MS dash results in the "service required" message, along with trying to run a font signed version of Boxplorer, and actual Xbox games. sleep.gif

It also fails to run audio CDs with a "service" error".  I'm starting to think that it's necessary to "restore" the audio folder...

-Constant flashing red LED...

i got boxplorer working by adding the media files into the backup folder that evox created when i pressed backup and just changed the name to Media but this was with original freevox so idk - should still work
EDIT: My mom was vacumming while I was out.  She unplugged xbox.  When I plugged it back in (couldn't have been more than 5 hours) it looped for like 30 seconds (EDIT: and i turned it off).  When I turned xbox back on to demonstraight less than 30 seconds and evo-x loaded. smile.gif
