Tut:setup Freevox To Run Apps On 3944 And Old Dash
« on: July 09, 2003, 06:09:00 PM »

This is for people that have no other way of getting apps to the hard drive(ie: no burner or way of ftping)
1. Use the hard drive swap method to add the font files onto the hard drive.
2. Sign whatever version you want of evox with xbedump and also add it as c:\default.xbe
3. In evox.ini add the line:
Item "boXplorer","boxplorer.xbe"
right after:
Section "Root"
{
and add the file to c:
4. Sign the default.xbe from boxplorer###.zip>Xbox Files with xbedump and add it to the hard drive as c:\boxplorer.xbe
5. Turn off xbox and plug the hard drive back in.
6. Turn on xbox and evo-x should boot
7. Go to system utils and select backup
8. Turn off xbox and swap the hard drive back into the pc with the hard drive swap method
9. In hdd driver rename the folder "Backup" to "Media" and add the files back.xpr and font.xpr from boxplorer###.zip>Xbox Files>Media
10. Turn off xbox plug the hard drive back in reboot and select boXplorer
11. Now on your PC unzip the app you want to add to xbox into a folder(for this example c:\appname)
12. Make a folder for this app using boXplorer on the E drive(ie: e:\apps\appname)
13. Create the same directories and sub-directories that are in c:\appname(PC) in e:\apps\appname(xbox)
14. Now do the hard drive swap again and add all the files into the appropriate directories with hdd driver.  They will be in the user save folder.(Be sure to sign the xbe before adding)
EDIT: Hdd drive does not add files into empty folders so make sure to add arbitrary folders into empty folders if you want to add files to the empty folders
