Xploit Tutorial For Dummies!
« on: July 09, 2003, 04:49:00 PM »

I hope future Evox fixes problem with the mounting of D: with Free-X.

I wonder if older 3682 will work.

Reason I say this is there possibly is a MUCH easier way...

Since 3682, Evox has neat feature that would work great and here is an excerpt
which explains:

-----
New ID_No_D_Mount option:

Normally when launching an XBE file, the path is mounted as D:
With this new option the D drive will still be DVD drive after launching the XBE file.

Example:

Item "Dash","e:devdash.xbe",ID_No_D_Mount

-----

So if one can access D: drive in Evox, just put the signed default.xbe in a folder on HDD like:

Item "ProgXXX","e:progsProgXXXdefault.xbe",ID_No_D_Mount

Or you could rename them to prog001.xbe, prog002.xbe and put in same dir.

Of course you must have the DVDR inserted first and then Evox detects as "game". Make sure that autolaunch games is turned off in evox settings.

Thanks for the tutorial SpIdErXeN.

I've got the MegaXkey 1.2 software as well as a hacked version (MXK_BxBX) but neither will see the game save files 007aufsavewithEvoxInstaller.zip and MechAssaultExploitWithEvoX_installer.Xbox-XAT.zip. Both versions of MegaXKey allow me to transfer my own gamesaves  between Xbox, memory card, and PC but neither will see the hacked gamesaves. Anybody know what's up with this?

When you say add that Item line... your refering to the evox.ini file correct?  or can this line be added to the loader.cfg file.  I don't think the loader.cfg file supports options like that???
