how about a US tut??? Seeing as most here are pal boxes... just wonderin what the US boxes are?
  I tried that dashhack, and it didnt work.... so, i'm in hex w/s now... searched for the string, but had to remove the spaces.... found instances of xtf.... or x.t.f. then there's 5 more .'s behind.... dont want to fuck this up... so thought I'd try n ask before actually saving:)
   Do i just hilight the x.t.f. and change to x.f.t.  ?

Why is ppl saying you have to sign Xbox Dash after changing to XFT...I didnt sign it(forgot lolz#0 but it still worked...and i havent patched kernal because while that works all other stuff on evo X gets error 21 until I run complex from evo then run evo again lolz

It could be because the dash is still signed with M$ code.  I still don't understand how the signing process works though since you can copy the dash as much as you want and it still loads, but games lose the signature when they are copied once.  Hmm, perhaps there are two different sign codes.  Still, I would sign the new dash with the font code just to be safe.

It depends what Bert/Ernie files you have.  Some run unsigned code, some dont.

I have hex edited the xtf references in the appropriate parts and resigned it, and renamed the original font files to xft.

I set evox to launch the new dash (c:newdash.xbe, as edited in evox.ini) and it just resets

Can anyone help me?

reloaded
4817
4920

Thanks in advance

so does this permanently fix the CLOCK RESET problem??

No !

I have applied this + although the original dash can now be launched from Evox menu, it did'nt resolve the clock loop problem !

QUOTE
) Copy xboxdash.xbe from your xbox to your computer
2) Open it in a hex editor

3) Go to line 00046A8. On the right you should see x.t.f
4) Change to x.f.t
5) Go to line 00046E0. On the right you should see x.t.f
6) Change to x.f.t
7) Go to line 00 rotfl.gif 0A758. On the right you should see x.t.f
8) Change to x.f.t
9) Go to line 000A7E4. On the right you should see x.t.f
10) Change to x.f.t

11) Save the file
12) Run the file through xbedump and patch with -font
13) Rename out.xbe to newdash.xbe (or whatever you want)
14) Upload newdash.xbe to your C Drive on Xbox

15) Find your backed up old Xbox.xtf and XBox Book.xtf and rename them to Xbox.xft and XBox Book.xft and place them in your C:fonts folder and your C: folder.

16) Open evox.ini
17) Look for lines

#AudioPlayer = "c:xboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:xboxdash.xbe"

18) Change to

#AudioPlayer = "c:newdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:newdash.xbe"

(There are backslahes after the colons)

And there you go.

I am running kernal 4034 and dashboard 4920. If I try to search for the lines or even try to find them manually, I cannot find them. Am I just supposed to search for these as search strings? (I assume that they are not hex values because those have to be an even number and all of these values are seven digit numbers.) Before trying to edit the files this way, I used the patch provided in the link previously in this post. Does this just seek out every "xboxdash.xbe" on the hard drive and patch it? When I started the patcher I assumed that it would ask for me to locate the file, but it did not. I had copied and pasted this same file to another location on my hard drive, but when I tried to patch this file specifically it gave me some sort of error about file size. I said no to continuing anyway and just tried to edit this file manually (so I would have two edited files because I was slightly worried about the patch actually working), but I had no luck in finding the values provided in the previous posts. Am I not finding these values because the patch edited every "xboxdash.xbe" on my hard drive or because there is some sort of other problem? I doubt that the first is true because I compared the two files in Hex Workshop and they looked different (one started with 000A730 and the other started with 00004320). Can anyone help me get the orginal dash up and running on my Xbox? Help would be greatly appreciated!

my question is that when I open evox.ini it only has the following two lines
[BIOS]

Current      = 0x542c62cb976a4993c8c5027dff9638ce

what should I do just add the new lines under it?

What should the DVDPlayer property be set to in Evox.ini?

By default it's set to something on the F drive (which doesn't exist), but seems to work (albeit with the remote reset bug still present).  If I set it to the hacked dash c:\msxboxdash.xbe DVDs wont load...
