i have evox running w/font exploit and retail games work fine if i boot with the disc in
i haven't tried backups(dont have any)
evox doesnt acknowlege you putting in a disc however

yea EVO X never acknowledges that you put a disc in...even on my modded xbox it doesn't...

so you used the font exploit on a 3944 kernel??

which files (rar files and zips) did you use to accomplish this?

i used bert and ernie from the dayx download on xbins
and Free-XEvox from xbins
what i mean is when i put in a game there is no way to launch it without reboot
i thought evox had an option like that(even if autolaunch is off to like press a button or sumthing)

if you are willing to open xbox it says programa 3944 on my hard drive otherwise there is a tutorial on this site

there is a way to launch the DVD in the dvd rom...

in my evox on my modded xbox it looks like this: Item "Launch DVD",ID_Launch_DVD

but the Free-Xevox evox.ini looks old man

1. does that exploit u used work on all kernels or just certain ones??

2. so you used bert and ernie .xtf from DAYX and default.xbe and evox.ini from FREE-XEvox??

3. did you have to rename the bert and ernie files or just put the on your xbox?

1)i think it works on all v1.0 boxs only i think, 3944 and 4034 kernel for sure(are there others for v1.0 boxes?)

ok...if you want to play backups, you can only use 4034 right now. 3944 will not work. even the auf hack with the original !loader that came out, 3944 won't work. they didn't include the 3944 dll file, just the 4034. as of RIGHT now, 4034 or you'll out of luck. The loader fx will boot, but you won't be able to run anything without it freezing. I'm sure they will have 3944 support eventually. If you can't wait, solder the two jumpers and flash the 4034 kernel like i did.

I just read in another post that if you have the 3944 kernel bios and the MS dash from an Xbox !Live update, the font files are still read from the root of c:

This might be the solution for those of you having trouble with the 3944 kernel. Try putting the bert and ernie files on the root of c: instead.

The 3944 kernel has font files in the root as well as in a font folder. I tryed replacing both of them and nothing happened

i have 3944 THERE IS NO FONTS FOLDER! and the dayx thing works to boot evox
