Flashing red/orange/green is normal for this mod... but obviously, the blank screen is not.  Can you load the 007 game?  If so, load the saved game from your HD again and you should get the Evox dash... then you can FTP into the Xbox and retrace your steps...

wink.gif

I would go and answer or attempt to resolve most issues, but I am dead tired right now haha. You'll notice my lack of proper grammar and punctuation, etc. as is not usually the case in my post.s Right now, all I care about is calling this girl I met today atthe beach , gabbin for a few minutes with her, hit a shower, and go to bead. It's close to 2:30 AM EST here (and that's WICKED EARLY for me).

So, personal affects aside, I will be answering these inquiries tomorrow. Stay seated! smile.gif help is attempting to be on it's way.

Thanks once more as always for the kind words (I use it for motivation) and as always, PLEASE E-mail/PM/POST with any questions you have. I prefer posts here, because the more PM's I get and e-mails I get, the more I respond to them personally, and I then detract from answering some potential other users questions by doing so. But honestly, I don't mind one bit! tongue.gif

Stop sending me e-mails saying, "You probably won't help... dat dat dat" haha. I love to help and hope this shows you all that YOU TOO can learn just as I did from scratch. I mean, yeah I had a lot of background experience with other consoles, etc.... but it doesn't mean NOW isn't a good time to start wink.gif Teach that old dawg new tricks, B! hehe

Peace,

I've followed the instructions from here .. I'm able to (once I click on "Load Game") get into the Menu that has the following options:

MS Dashboard, Reboot, Power Off, System Utils, INSTALL EVOX 1.8.3752

I have clicked and accepted the so called 'install' of the Evox and also been able to 'ftp' into the system and go through all of the instructions relating to part 3 of the tutorial .. backing up and uploading the replacement files, namely "default.xbe, XBox Book.xtf and Xbox.xtf [the bert replacements]" .. all fine so far; then I reboot the unit expecting to see a new menu or some indication that everything has worked ( after all I have changed a few files ) and just get the 'normal' dash?

What could be going wrong .. it's close to 2am and I have been going through the tutorial time and time again and I just can't see what I've done wrong?

Any help would be appreciated..

* As a side note I've noticed that the files from the 'temp' directory (that are contained on the D/UDATA drive of the X-Box along with the gamesave) does not seem to get copied over when you click the "Install.. Evox" option. I've copied the files directly over so I now have an "evox.ini" and "evoxdash.xbe" along with the included (in temp) "Skin" folder and also a manually (as done word for word) "SKINS" folder.. but still the same old dashboard when I reboot.

I can see the file-sizes of the various replaced files in C: such as "XBox Book.xtf" and "Xbox.xtf" are the ones from the included bernie archive.. also I've copied over the "default.xbe" (a file I did not originally have on the x-box) .. The *other* files in the C: root folder are: xboxdash.xbe, settings_adoc.xip..

I just can't fathom this one out!...

I cant see how you can get evox to boot up when default.xbe is just put in c: and not renamed to xboxdash.xbe. Doesnt the xbox load this file for the dash.

Correct me if im wrong I havent even tried it yet.

Sweet Tutorial.

I followed the directions, and I had no problem at all getting evox to boot up.  I tried a backup, and it worked no problem.

However, the one thing that I've noticed is that my evox.ini file looks nothing like the ones ive seen in the evox forums around here.  it only contains this one command/parameter:
[BIOS]

Current      = 0xf20cd7574bb4b2a69810b2e9f766a90d

This is the only thing in the file on my C drive.  This is pretty different from the one that came with the exploit.  Why is this version different, when I haven't touched it?  I think this is why I'm not seeing the Phoenix skin at all.  I'm seeing a modified version of the installation menu.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is it normal for this release?

originally the xbox looks for xboxdash.xbe.  however, if I understand things correctly, one of the two files that get changed (xbox.xtf and xbox book.xtf) redirects the xbox to look for default.xbe instead.

or something like that...

Whenever I click on "MS Dashboard" (.. to load in the MS standard dashboard) all that happens is the XBox 'resets' .. the X logo appears and then after another reboot it goes into the EvoX menu .. how do I get access to the MS Dashboard? - am I missing something ..
