i haven't opened my xbox yet, but TiVo users have been doing this 'hot-swap' for years...I used that method to upgrade my TiVo. I'm still not sure where the !Loader or EvoX files are supposed to go for this XBOX mod, though.

I could also manage to get into the HD - at least once. It's very strange: when the hdd_Driver came up for the first time, I got about 5 of the "Invalid filename size" messages. I clicked them away and copied a test file on the hd - just to see if the prog works as expected. Well, copying was ok and I explored the filesystem a bit - then it crached.

Now, I can not access the disk any longer with hdd_driver - I get hundreds of those "Invalid size" boxes. Clicking them away doesn't help 'cause sooner or later it will crash... Nothing seems to help: rebooting, other dll's... At least, the disk is not messed up - it still loads the dashboard in my xbox (phew)

Shit, I was so close...

maybe if someone made a halfway decent program or posted a good download this stuff would work. the dl that was hear is missing all the nedded dlls. even if i downloaded then i get linking errors. so this program dont even work,

As far as I know, HDD_Driver is the only Win32 program to directly access individual files on a fatx disk. All other tools can only backup/restore/explore images.

But I agree, hdd_driver should definitely be fixed/improved. E.g. it builds againt debug libraries!!!

All the .dll files should be included in your windows 2k/xp installation under windows/system32. If not then you will need to dl and install m$ .net framework or vb runtimes.

To anyone that's actually been able to access their Xbox hard drive from this program: could you please post a zip of the DLLs that you're using... I've tried everything I can think of but still get the infinite "Invalid Filename Size!" error when trying...

so i download dyne:bolic linux I booted from the cd and saw when linux was loading that it saw the xbox hdd. It said unknown partition. My question is how do I mount since I know jack about linux

Where hdXX is the disk assumed to be your xbox hd.
