Evox won't load on reboot.  You would have to go through the 007 gamesave every single time in order to get to Evox.  If you wanna save yourself some time... just follow the tutorial.. after you've loaded evox with the 007 gamesave, you're given ftp access to your xbox.  From that point, just FTP into your box, dump the free-x hacks and the complex loader.. and you're pretty much set.  if you still need help, just PM and i'll break it down even further.

can't wait till !loader will work for a v1.1, do you think they will get it to work with the old dashboards or am I gonnqa have to rent a live game?  

aslo I know that evox will not read the CD drive, can I manually put a *cough backup* on the xbox Hd and play it with evox?  also what format does the backup need to be in?

i want to re-ask a question from earlier which I did not see answered


I have a v1.0 unmodded xbox, i wish to follow this tutorial to run XBMP without needing to open my xbox

so its a 2001-11-28 mfg date v1.0, with I think, the original bios/dashboard/whatever (i.e. - its not updated by live)

I have 1 game which seems to be live-enabled, Splinter Cell

I've played it a few times but it didnt look like it updated my xbox or anything, when I boot into dashboard, and go to system info, I only get legal text and no version numbers

can I update my dashboard or bios or whatever with Splinter Cell ? (and how?)

is it 100% critical that you update via a live game, or will all this stuff work with an original 1.0 untouched virgin box?

first the legal stuff will start scrolling into the version numbers (wait a while)second pretend that you want to play splinter cell oin live (is it really live enabled?) and let it download nad install live and the lasted patch.

yes loader onyl works with updated dash.

dont I first have to have a live account for it to get online ?  wont it ask for a username/password or something?

sorry for the n00bness,  the xbox is my sisters, I only play the occasional Halo game on it, but I am technically capable, I have the 007, mega x-key on the way, and a virgin 1.0 that I'm ready to start hacking it

Can you use evox to boot non patched xbe files after it has been loaded by using the complex !loader?

If i were to use the new "Bert is cheating on Ernie"/"Snuffleupagus.xtf" exploit, would i in essence get evox to run every time i boot my xbox, there fore eliminating the need for the Complex !loader? Or would i still have to patch each game/xbe in order to get it to work, there fore making it easier to use the complex !loader?

somja how do u copy the files over to ur xbox...............lets think about this one............iv seen this asked so many times..............HINT..........HINT.......0...........0...........7..........

But ofcouse after that u dont need it, UNLESS u take the other ways around like u said using a friends moded xbox and usb mem.....then u dont need the 007 exploit. about the loader already having a pre tweaked 007 game save,dunno ask someone else

I have created an Action Replay compatible save using the Mechassault with Evox save.

I deleted the Mechassault content and then copied the save onto the hard disc.  Booted Mechassault and went to Campaign and selected Run Linux.  Within a few seconds I had my first ever view of Evox.

I am now going to go and find the Complex loader so that I can try the full install.  Upto now I have not done the Free-X install yet.

You have already done the most difficult part mate.

Now you can FTP up to your xbox and copy over the FreeX signed !Loader or the FeeX signed EvoX

When you reboot the MS dash will start to load then the exploit will kick in and force which ever one of the 2 u just installed!!

I am still not sure about installing Free-X, I have bad power in my village.

If I could get hold of xbmp signed for Free-X, could it then be copied onto the HD and started from the Evox in my save game.

Having thought about it, would it be better to put some media and a signed xbmp onto a DVD and then get evox to boot it, or will the xbox reset when I eject the tray?
