I have these bios but what do I do with them. All the tutorials ive been in are for other chips. My xbox is not playing dvds, but I have a 160 drive and play orginal games on it. What is 1.2 or m8,m7. What is newer or which one actually works better? How do I flash it. I thought it was hard, it is kind of easy, if there would actually be a tutorial for thais chip. I think if I ever get any oyher chip I wuold have the instrucional tutorials for those. Just how to set it up, and keep it going. Not any info on where to get it. At first I had no clue what a bioi was, now I now all about bios and linux and write programs. BUT how do I apply all ths knowledge to the chip? Ive read how to flash, what am I going to flash? I have flashed one thing. So where does all this come together? Or is my box suppose to say matrix,executer, or sometimes nothing? I know Im doing something or I wouldn't be able to have upgraded my hdd or not play dvds. Can anyone help? read here read there, installed what i read but how does it apply to this chip?

Evox 1.2 i special bios specially made for x-chip and takes advantage of all the features available in this chip. Use it.

Download xcontrol from eb2k website and load evox 1.2 same way as in guide for full.bin, but replce with evox1.2 file.

When connecetd successfully will see purple logo on top left when poweeringa dn will say X-Chip Inside.

If you can play originals, then yoiur backups are either burn incorectly or incompatibel media with your xbox dvd drive.

So what your telling me it has its advantages. But then why isn't there a tutorial for those who have no clue,like me. I read on how to flah, ive read the stuff from easy buy, and ive called for asstiyance. But what i seem to get is the same stuff load and flash. Load what flash what. My dvd isn't working, iI asked for help. the person told me iI need xbmc, and to load and flash and rewrite evo.ini? I don't still understand why their cannot be a tutorual. Lad where flash what. loadin an app file in f: or laod in x chip and flash what flash the chip or flash the d; or flash the F:? I just confused with all the stuff ive red. I know what i have to do, but i'm not sure if it is the same for this chip, since it is supose to be easy.

By the way ive have not got to the point of backing them up onto dvd. It wont play my movies. It played them fine tell i started following instructions i probaly wasnt, or more than likely I did something wrong. But first I like to deal with one problem at a time. Right now I am starting all over since some in the forums bakup 1.2 and could not acces his drive. Hopefully this time I can do what I need to with this chips applications.

What is M8 for is it like evox1.832?

M8 is a hacked M$ bios which overrides the stock xbox bios and allows you to play backups. But sine you using X-Chip Load Evox 1.2 onto chip and open a whole world of options not available in stock M8.

evox1.832 is a dashboard ( basically desktop ) on gharddrive on xbox, allows running of applications and utilities from teh xbxo harddrive.

well I got the media center. i installes in the e:. When I lauch dvd it acyually activates it. this is through the setup up i got from reading the forums. What or how wil I be be to use it through the chip. Do I load the whole file or just the xbe. See this is where I'm lost my dvvd is working now. But I have to go through 2 menu stages before I can actually lod the dvd player.

If your using Evox 1.2 on X-Chip you can have it set to auto play DVD/CD's and play all regions ( region 00 ) You can read up on settings form the manual included with the Bios download.

well I got the xbmc on it it is working fine. Now I'm thinking about the burn. Im at the point where stuff is working because I' alter the ini (setup
) when I dont really need to. I'll look at the slayer, I still think xchip needs a tutorial. It has all these features but it is not idiot proof. I'm the idoit that dis proved that..... I just read what you suggested how do these bios apply to the chip. You staed the m7m8 well basicly obslete compared to the v1.2?

M8 is good, M7 is obsolete.

Evox 1.2 is cadillac of Bios's for X-Chip ( M8 with a lot of functionality added )

As for Tutorials?

? have you downloaded and read the X-Control Manual included with the software downlaod at eb2k, have you downloaded Evox 1.2 from #xbins? as it has sweat manual for evox 1.2 setup. Have you read the #xbinx tutorial here on Xbox-scene?

So in theory I load up the m8 bios on a cd and it will override the stock bios, but since I have the chip I dont need anything else. Now abvout the region code on the dvd, it is set on 00 but it doesnt work I installed xbmp and everything is working. Now what is the real point of this chip. I set up my dash to where I can go to the original dash. I dont know if I can go onto xlive but I dont use it.

I'm not sure what you are after, but no modchip tutorials will tell you howto everything.

* Basic Modchip ( manuals tell howto install and write to )
* Bios ( no one tells you where to find but tell you what to use )
* Software ( varies from user to user, but slayer.xbxo-scene.com can get newbies going quickly and also independant software has own sites with documents )

Look Im was asking only a simple question, but i am past all that. Ill cal the place where I bought it from. Can I get an answer for: where would be the best place in N.A. to get a nice colored case that has an extra fan to cool the internal comp. Oor do I have to look for the tutuorial for that?
