Has anybody tried using a CF USB Card reader with a CF card in it, attached to the Xbox with a USB dongle on it?  I'm not sure if it would work because some of those CF USB Card readers need drivers if I recall.

i use a compactflash mp3 player connected to a usb hub (with xbox connector soldered on). This works fine, so its safe to say usb card readers will work too (at least the ones that dont need drivers in win2k)

Cool I have a sony USB mem stick for my Aibo. Hmmm I wonder if this will work

This is a good solution as many people have mem sticks for there cameras and such already.

Tutorial would be nice on how to use this with any old mem stick and perhaps start building a list

This topic should be pinned.

Universal Smart Drive does not work. XBOX will detect it and erase it but the Mega X-key 1.2 software does not recognize it.

That will work if Xbox recognizes it. MXK will only detect a few USB drive, unless you've got the hacked version, in which case, it could be able to detect your thing.

Could you be kind enough to let us know as to where we can get hold of the hacked version of the MXK ?

I downloaded it (from xbox-scene) and it is the same megaxkey 2.1 beta 1 as the one on the megaxkey site.

what version are you talking about?

Supposedly it aint the same, it is a hacked version of MXK, which works for other kinda 32MB USB drives (The original one supposedly works only for Fujitsu drives sad.gif )
Just go to the tools section, other utils..You will find the hacked version(which I linked to in the previous post) there.

I have a 16 MB GE thumb drive (USB 1.1) that works just fine for transferring gamesaves from xbox to pc and vice versa.

I tried a Lexar JumpDrive Trio card reader (USB 2.0) with 32 MB MMC, SD, and MS cards and it did not work.

The problem I'm having is that neither MXK 1.2 nor MXM_BxBx will recognize the hacked gamesaves (with Evox) from Mechassault or 007 AUF so I can't tranfer them to the xbox.

I put them in the saves folder in zipped and unzipped  format, changed names, put in only certain folders etc. but still they're not recognized by the gamesave software. I have not problems with my own gamesaves or ones downloaded from the MXK website. Ideas anyone?
