ok lets clear up some things... I have in mind some steps to do when i get my friends unmodded box (1.00.4817.01)...

1.Open the box and plug the hdd in my PC as Slave (in the primary IDE)
2.Boot the PC in Ms-dos mode and unlock the disk with hddunlock or unlockx
3.Then boot WinXP that i have and with hdddriver rename the font in the c: or c:/font (where they are) and upload the two font that are in dayx.zip
4.After that what? Can i sign with xbedump the evox or whatever default.xbe and when upload it to c: run every time i boot my xbox?? Or  should i use the Free-XEvox?
5.Then can i use the f: drive and how??
6.If i boot evox can i flash the TSOP with a 1MB BIOS?

before even going thru that, you have to unlock your hd first and i dont think you get the concept of unlocking it yet. huh.gif

Is there anyone that can explain me and answer these question to me... What extra i have to do to copy the files to the hdd?? The questons 3, 4 and 5 are right???
If this help my box is modded and my friend not..If i take his hdd and connect it to my modded xbox and rename and copy the two files, it will work?
I am searching for hours, someone to spent only 5 minutes to help me!

I suggest you go to the XBS tut pages and look up the hard drive swap methods or hotswap.  Just to get an understanding of how it works.  It will save you a lott of trouble.  Most of the answers are there except for new stuff as this exploit seems to be.  Good Luck.

does anyone else find it scary and sad that people don't know how to use DOS anymore?  I'm not poking fun at said people, but am disappointed in the trend of 'techies.'  I think that if you're ballsy enough to mod your xbox, you should at least know your way around the computer... maybe I'm just overanalyzing the situation, but I don't like it!

Yeap, and some of these people will want to install Linux on their xbox soon enough too, that's scary!

No. This is a rumour and only applies to the Complex !loader version.

Using the Pheonix hack, EvoX is designed to sign the pre-cached image of the default.xbe (which is translated by the X-Box as a "frist attempt to load" file) and will automagically boot to this .xbe and all other linked files as well BEFORE the MS Dashboard (which wouldn;t be possible as the xtf's are now wrong)....

EvoX is designed by default (because of this actually) so that if the power DOES go out, it ddefaults to 10/22/02 (i think... its the day it was released) AND also has a default SNTP server address... so if the X-Box is connected somehow to the internet, it will automagically sync to the latest time. Awesome isn't it?
