Rename on C the original files :
(added by XanTium: on old dashboards these files are on c:/ , on newer dashboard they are on c:/fonts/)
--------------------------------
Xbox.xtf -> Xbox.xtf.backup
XBox Book.xtf -> XBox Book.xtf.backup

I don't think it's too obvious how to do this

Renaming is the least of your worries. If you can upload the required files, renaming should be no problem. You can use the same tools you'd need to upload the files to rename the existing ones.

Ahhhhh, the pleasure of playing doomX without a chip. Although, the red blinking does make my head hurt in the dark. Maybe I will change the LED to blue?

Have someone tried this with a Live! game ???

And WTF is your issue with making this work on Live! For crying out loud, you're the main reason why people like you should be off limits to XBL.

Then you would be happy to know I don't have live and don't get it either.

I just want live to be hacked because that is a really big downfall for M$ (and thinking about you getting pissed off about cheaters make me happy to dry.gif ).

Hey, if you're such a big MS hater, why don't you throw your Xbox out of the window, reformat your HD and start using Linux? Don't use any MS 'crap' if you don't like 'em, how simple can that be?

And I'm not pissed, NO, I would not give you that satisfaction. It's just beyond me how stupid can you really get. 'Nuff said!!!

wink.gif

but are there any FAQS on how to use Linux to get access to the Xbox HD?

I found this FAQ but I don't think it's what I need.

Xlinux only copies the 007 save to your Xbox HD?

Trust me if this worked on xbox live M$ would make a new security thing that would check for this exploit. Remember it is an on going battle. We do one thing they always find a counter measure. Another thing to remember is M$ is a multi billion dollar company if their game console failed because people hated them and hacked it to bits they wouldnt care because they make so much money everyday.

make a new folder put xbedump.exe and the default.xbe you want to load with this hack (e.g. EvoX or CPX !Loader).  in that same folder create a new text file and put this in it:

xbedump.xbe default.xbe -font

now save the file and rename it to xbedump.bat and double click it.  this way you dont have to go to the cmd prompt every time you want to sign an app to work with the hack you just run the script again.

BTW Thnx to Free-X for developing such a cool exploit.

yeah thats an easier idea biggrin.gif

you should update the first post on this thread and make it more indepth (telling how to load the 007 etc) the more indepth the less posts you'll see.
