Simple Man's Question...
« on: July 04, 2003, 06:19:00 PM »

There's just one thing I'd like to know, as stupid as it sounds, in case the Free-X exploit gets opened completely...

Will I be able to play import games with this software mod?  It seems a little bit of an overkill for me to break open my X-Box and risk destroying it by my novice hands just so I can play games I bought while I was in Japan.  I have no interest in anything beyond that...

If there are better alternatives that are less stressful to my soldering skills or money bag so I can just simply do this, I would very much appreciate knowing about it... but this software mod, from what I've read, just might be all that I need.

From my technical understanding, the entire bios should be patchable in memory so the software solution should be equal to having a (basic) modchip. So not only your imports will run, so will backups, homebrew emulators, xbox media player and much more.
Just wait some time, I bet there will be a solution shortly.

Simple Man's Question...

Thank you for your answers.  I apologize if this question comes as an annoyance to you guys.  I do plan to wait and watch how this turns out, but I asked so I could be absolutely sure (all the posts I've seen were for more than just my simple import game-playability desire), so I don't have to risk damaging my X-Box or something.

Thank you again, and sorry!
