Can Somene Tell Me If This Will Work?

I take my Xbox hard drive, unlock it in linux and copy all the files over from my computer. I take these files and place them on another drive and put it into the Xbox(locking the drive afterwards). Will this old Xbox drive work if I copy the Exact same files over? I'd like to use this drive for linux and my new drive for normal stuff.
