X-chip Questions.
« on: October 15, 2004, 09:49:00 PM »

Hey everyone I have some questions I need to ask. Hope you guys are able to help me out.

Using the solderless adapter X-chip on a version 1.0 xbox. What files are required for the dashboard to be setup on the bios of the X-chip? Where do you get these files? IRC? What server and channel?

Do you simply flash the bios of the X-chip buy using the usb connection to the X-chip and modify the chips settings then write them to the chip? If not what exactly is the process of flashing it?

What dashboard works the best with it and has a nice layout? Do you install the dashboard with a cd-rw?

What are banks on the X-control bios for? Is that where you install the dashboard and setup the bank as the default so it brings up the dashboard every time?

How do I go about adding a new bigger hard drive. How do you format the new hard drive with the xbox? Or can I format it with my computer using the new drive i bought as a slave hard drive. Set it up as NTFS and then put the dashboard files in a folder then on the hard drive. Power down my comp, pop out the hard drive an install it on the xbox an tell the X-chip to go in the folder I put on the HDD then use the dashboard on there and set that as my default settings?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Im having the same problem. I have x-chip on vesion 1.6 xbox and installed the new evox bios 1.2. It works because the evox logo is on the top left and the xchip logo is on the top right, I can go to setup mode and change stuff. but where is the different dashboard. Or what do i have to do to enable it.

Hey liquidNeo if you find out let me know, cause im lost right now.

There is no dashboard on xchip.

Bios = software on xchip(modchip )
Dashboard = software on harddrive

Bios allows using dashboard.

You need to load Evox 1.2 on xchip, then grab a copy of slayers autoinstall 2.6 and install that on your harddrive ( once modchip installed )

Then you will have dashbaord and alot of neat utilities :P
