Need Help. Red Light Goes On Indicating It Works
« on: October 15, 2004, 06:00:00 PM »

It just hangs at the Xbox "X" Logo.

Do I have to place the dvd and HD back in for it to work?  I did this once before and I only got the standard Xbox dash?

I have reseated cleaned and made DOUBLE sure I got the gold wire into the D0 spot.  I have a version 1.0 xbox so I can use the adaptor, right?  Do I have to use the rivets on a 1.0?  It doesn't look llike I can use them at all.  All the pogo pins are making contact on the LPC points perfectly.

I have the Evox 1.2 Xchip bios on there.  I flashed it using the load raw option, and than flashed the changes.

What am I doing wrong?  Thanks for the help.

Yes, you do need to put the hard drive and dvd drive back in the xbox.

There is a difference between the Xchip bios and the EvoX dashboard.  You need to use the xchip bios before you can install the EvoX dash.

Alright,

I re-flashed the modchip with full.bin by using load raw and than write changes.  I waited the 5 minutes.  Rechecked the xchip with xcontrol.

Turned it on.  Nothing.  Just sits there for awhile and than says "Your Xbox requires service.  Please call xbox customer support."  With an number 7 which means an HDD timeout (Because there is nothing connected)

Anything else?  Should I just keep reconnecting the pogo adapter until it works?  Why is the light going red on the xchip is what I want to know?  I thought it was supposed to turn red when it was connected properly?

To test, you need DVD and Harddrive connected, thsi means the IDE cable connectted to both and Xbox, as well as yellow cable to xbox and dvd, and power cable to harrdrive.

And yes ( cause not connected why error )_
