Yes, you can use this exploit to run hacked Live games. But be careful. When MS released Live to the public they simply added a modchip detection routine and when offenders were flagged they banned their eeprom ... it could have been much worse.

With this, I fully expect MS to release a new update to detect this, then start banning accounts and not just Xboxes. Hell, they could also render an unmodded-but-running-hacked-games-Xbox useless by deleting key boot files. I really hope that MS does, because I don't want to play Live vs cheaters. My modded Box is great for emulators and divx movies, but I'm never going to be doing this exploit to my virgin Live Xbox. Go ahead and use it to cheat on Live. I hope MS kills your Xbox.

Cheating on games sucks anyway. Whats the point of playing a game with cheats? Takes all the fun out of it IMO.

Measure up the costs of one hour being (and drinking) at a pub somehere, watching
a movie in some theater vs playing a game for an hour.

$50 isn't cheap, but in value for money per hour worths fun it is still pretty much unbeatable.

You're wrong. As I reported before, people have played backups on live, but it was not an easy process. Recent developments have the potential to make it much easier though.
