It sounds as though it's chipped. The only way to know which chip is to open it up and take a look.

FTP might help you identify if it's chipped or softmodded, but in your case if you have to press two buttons to get the Xbox to boot to a modded dash then it's definitely chipped. You have to open it to see which chip.

Composite  =/= HD, ever.

There's no need to quote an immediately preceding post.....

The original MS dongle would be the one to go for, or the Konig.

Yes. It makes the pictures 100 times worse. That's why every component connected DVD player was designed that way - to deliberately make the picture rubbish so you'd buy Blu-Ray when they eventually invented it.

You buy the cables where you buy all other PC and video cables - Amazon, eBay, local PC and electronics stores.

ive ordered The original MS dongle ,
can you recommend any links to the component to component cables
have got some red,white and yellow lying around at home ,can they be used
i think they are the composite ones

ordered a gold plated high quality component to component cable
connected to my ms hd av connector
now getting 720p
i can put this to 1080i but in the turtorial it says that i should use 720p
the picture is very sharp and crisp on my sony full hd
whats the best setting to get the most out of this set up

720p is generally considered the best compromise with an Xbox 1. 1080i can be choppy and give you dropped frames, because the hardware just can't cope with 1080i.

done 720p setting on xbox 1
