Need To Manually Remove Shadow C Or Hidden Xbe's
« on: December 04, 2009, 12:54:00 AM »

So i personally hate softmods, its crap like this that makes me mad. But anyways heres what i did

Repaired a previously owned xbox and installed krazies ndure 1.1 clean from xbins, evreything installed okay but it failed to copy my entire C drive to E/dashbackup or whatever folder. I tried to uninstall it but it wouldent let me. So then i made a pre-made rescue disk that came with the exploit. I replaced the entire C drive with fresh stock contents of the M$ dash.

So i try my luck with the UXE installer. well same copying/moving error for the C drive.

I have a completely stock C drive. I deleted every folder on E with the exception of Udata and Tdata, i cleared the cache and then deleted both exploit gamesaves. My xbox boots to the evox evrey time i turn it on. I dont have FTP access but i can use a filemanager. How can i get rid of this shadow C /hidden xbe crap! i just want the xbox stock now, i forgot how softmods can be so unpredictable and unreliable. Ill do some searching around and see what happens too.

The only reason i was going to softmod it was to run linux and activate the xbox to work over the network using the internet browser, then i was going to remove it.

It are not the softmod's that are unreliable. It are the people that do the softmod that are unreliable.
A bad soldered modchip is unreliable as well.
Their went a lot of effort in the creation of the softmods.
You can mod your xbox without the need to pay extra $$ for aditional hardware.

Since you don't even know how to disable the shadowc, you obviously haven't done your homework before you started with the softmod. I bet you don't even have a backup of the xbox eeprom.

Anyhow, add a shadowC_OFF.bin file to the E:\nkp11 folder. Add it to the root of your E as well. Reboot your xbox and you will have shadowC disabled. The contents of the file aren't important. It's the existence of it that counts.

good luck.
