Can't Launch Ms Dashboard Or Xbmc

So i'm having a problem with my softmodded xbox.  It boots up fine to the EvolutionX V+3935 Dashboard, but I can't launch XBMC or the MS Dashboard from there.  When i try to launch either of these the xbox seems to get stuck at an evolutionX splash screen.

Since the evolution dashboard boots up I have ftp access to the xbox.  What can I do?  

I might have deleted a needed file when trying to install the latest XBMC.  

Ideas?

boot with a rescue disc (frosty's is nice) and replace your missing files or just replace everything with the latest xbmc
