Xbox Up And Running Need A Good Splinter Cell Tutorial.
« on: September 28, 2009, 10:14:00 PM »

I just got my xbox up and running and I am looking for a good Splinter Cell tutorial and package.

I have a 230 MB flash drive that I can use to transfer files to the xbox.

I have the original Splinter Cell game.

Now I just need the tutorial and files.

If anyone can help me out that would be awesome and much appreciated.

Thanks, looking forward to this!   biggrin.gif

Krayzie 1.1.1 is the softmod package you need. Get it from the usual places (then apply the small 1.1 to 1.1.1 update manually), or from HeXEN / CASH with the updates already applied. If your dash version is below 5960 you'll also need a recent live-enabled game (Halo 2 or later) to update the dash to version 5960 before you start.

If you are using a flash drive then you'll need an Xbox to USB adapter - you can make one from a controller lead and a USB lead, or you can buy one. Plug the adapter and flash drive into your Xbox, and if the Xbox likes your flash drive (not guaranteed - it doesn't like all of them) it will automatically format it. Copy an existing gamesave to the flash drive, then back again, just to confirm that the flash drive is working.

To get the Krayzie gamesave onto your flash drive then onto your Xbox you have three basic methods:

- If you have an existing modded Xbox then FTP the gamesave to that Xbox and use your modded dash to copy the gamesave to your memory card.
- Use Xplorer360 beta6 on your PC to copy the gamesave to your memory card (the numbered folders go in the root of the memory card - see pictures here.)
- Use Action Replay on your PC (a bit of a fiddle with USB sticks - Xplorer360 is far easier)

If your dash is below 5960, load and run your live-enabled game - Halo 2 and Doom 3 definitely work (I've used them both), and Pro Evolution Soccer 4, Need For Speed Most Wanted, and Goldeneye Rogue Agent should work (Live enabled, 2004 or later). You just go through the motions of connecting to live, the first thing the game does is update the dash, and once it's done updating you can eject the game and reboot the Xbox.

Then use the MS Dash to copy the Krayzie gamesave from your flash drive onto your Xbox, load your exploitable game, and launch the gamesave. Backup the eeprom, then select Basic Install - UnleashX dashboard. There are some pictures showing the gamesave loading in this tutorial.

Thanks Heimdall, I really appreciate it! This is what I was looking for but now My flash drive wont let me copy onto the xbox hard drive. It's weird because it did yesterday but now I only get the option to delete.

So I guess I need to find a different flash drive or maybe a memory card. Will a memory card work and do they make them large enough?

I do have a Xbox controller female to a usb male.

Select the game, then move right onto the actual gamesave, and you will have the option to copy or delete. smile.gif
