Okay so I got a 750GB Barracuda for installation in a softmodded xbox.  Here is the process I was thinking of trying... not sure about a few steps, so I'm looking for help/advice.  I know some of the stuff is softmod and the rest is hard disc (so could actually be in a different forum) but here goes:

1.  Backup EEPROM to PC (already done)
2.  Use XBOXHDM 1.9 to prepare drive using stock ms dash
3.  lock the drive
4.  install sc gamesave exploit (krayzies ndure 1.1)
5.  run sc and install krayzies
6.  install extras
7.  update to krayzie's 1.1.1
8.  install xbpartitioner 1.1
9.  modify/create f partition 120gb w/16k clusters
10. modify/create g partition w/64k clusters and remainder of drive (600gb+)
11. install linux, xbmc, etc.
12.  play!

in particular i am looking for input on the cluster and partition sizes... can i make f and g equal with 32k clusters on each?

also will ndure work ok with the larger drive/opartitions?  do i need to configure nkpatcher???

anything missing?

any help would be appreciated before i take the plunge.

I think you have it all down. I would make F and G equal and use 32k clusters. The smaller clusters you can use the more files you can store on the HD.

Yes, Ndure will work with the larger partitions. Krayzie's Extras will allow you to configure nkpatcher (F , F and G)

so what is involved in configuring nkpatcher?  this part is very grey to me.... is nkpatcher required to "allow" larger partitions that I then create/modify with xbpartitioner?

Yes - nkpatcher patches the BIOS to provide LBA48 support for large partitions, and you use XBPartitioner 1.1 to create and format the partitions. Select nkpatcher .67 (that's what Krayzie uses as standard) - that's all you need to do!
