You can softmod the Xbox with Kingroach NDURE, xboxhdm, and hotswap. Start here. Note that you don't need to upgrade the dash to 5960 before you hotswap, but if you don't then you need to build your Kingroach files on top of the stock 5960 dash, which you can get from Slayers or CASH. The instructions for Kingroach describe how to do this.

Original Xbox hard drive was 8G or 10G.

If you can use a soldering iron, just make your own action replay! Plus, you don't need to open the xbox to softmod it

Ldotsfan created the xboxhdm2 package which is based upon USB boot.

I've never had to do this myself, but you can use hotswap + Xplorer360 to copy the softmod files to your Xbox drive. (And don't worry, xplorer360 works for original Xbox as well!) Have a look here and here and here.

Alternatively there is a version of xboxhdm that boots from usb - xboxhdm2. It doesn't lock the drive, but as you're hotswapping your drive doesn't need locking. HOWEVER, read the notes - it's alpha software, and comes with some sensible health warnings about the level of expertise you will need!

Nvm, my last post, got that figured out. I just wanted to ask, where can I find EvoX? Is it somewhere on softmodded HD? Or will I have to download it?

Yellow LED means the softmod is working, but it sounds like maybe some files are missing, and the NDURE E drive didn't copy across properly.

Get hold of a copy of Frosty's Rescue disc, burn it to a DVD-R. Cold boot with Frosty's, then FTP to the Xbox and copy the Kingroach C and E files on to the Xbox. When you reboot it should then boot to UnleashX.

If that doesn't work, rebuild the Kingroach files again, based on the stock MS dash from Slayers or Kingroach. Boot with Frosty's, ftp to the Xbox, delete all of the C drive, and copy the new C and E to your Xbox.

Evox is a dash, you can find it at the usual place. Kingroach's comes with unleashX as default dash. Any particular reason why you want EvoX?
