I obtain Softmod Installer Deluxe 5.0 and read thru the first part of the manual (a few times actually), but still can't get this to work.  I have the original Splinter Cell DVD, along with a third party memory card (Madcatz).  I read somewhere on another forum that I could use an existing softmod xbox, if I don't have a Action Relay.  So, I used a modded xbox to ftp all five zip files from the SID 5.0 compressed file onto the memory.

I tried booting the original xbox with 1 controller attached to this memory card.  I followed the instructions to load game from the memory, but it would show any files.  I then tried de-compressing all the zip files in many variations (separate & diff folder combinations).  A couple would show up correctly upon bootup, but when I try to run it, it says that gamesaves are corrupt or something.  Then there are 2 of the gamesaves that just shows up unidentified.  What am I doing wrong?

I don't have personal experience with SID5 and will only recommend Krayzie's Ndure 1.1 instead. But all gamesave exploits load from the hdd so you have to copy the gamesaves to hdd first with msdash.

For Krayzie's Ndure Splinter Cell, there are only 2 gamesaves to transfer to hdd.

Right... there should only be 2 files too for SID.  It came w/ 5 files total, but each game exploit only uses 2 files.  Do we keep them zipped or do we need to uncompress?

Do I copy the files to the HDD using MSDASH first then?  I believe the instructions tell me to select gamesave from memory card though...?

I have serious misgivings about SID but that's my personal prejudice. Anyway it depends on what dash you uses on your existing softmod xbox to copy the gamesaves to the memory card. With unleashX, there's a gamesave manager function. With XBMC, the memory card will end up with folder names that are a bunch of numbers.

Not sure if I follow you... I simply ftp's the files onto the memory card then used it on the original non-modded unit, I need to xfer the files from the memory card to the HDD somehow.  That is where I am stuck I guess?

There are 2 separate issues actually:
1. When you ftp to the mem card, you should end up with 2 folders and both folder names are a bunch of numbers. At least that's for Krayzie's. One folder one save.
2. The second issue is the gamesave has to be copied to the unmodded xbox's hdd via msdash.

1) I still don't follow - sorry.  I show 5 files in the "root" directory of that memory card.
2) This is where I'm stuck... I think.  How do I achieve this?  When I try to select the games saves on the memory card, it says it's corrupt or something & no option to copy, just "delete"

let's borrow the image and instructions from: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=257509 that the OP LostKoRn gave:

CODE

2. Take out the memory card from the docking station and put it into the top of your xbox joypad. On the microsft xbox dashboard choose memory and select the memory card with the gamesave on. Go to the gamesave and click A. The select Copy and copy the game to the xbox hardrive. Insert the chosen game which matches the chosen game save and wait for it to load.

Key: Select the game save, not the game title before pressing A.

if it doesn't work, you might want to try Krayzie's Ndure.

Don't try putting the game save directly on the mem card through FTP. FTP the game save to the Udata folder. It should uncompress on your PC and give you a folder something like Udata\3244128. You would FTP 3244128 into the Udata folder on the modded Xbox. Then reboot. Go into MS Dash and you should have the game save show up. Copy that game save to the mem card using the MS Dash. Now you can copy that game save to the un-modded Xbox.

I concur with the previous posts. Go with Krazie's Ndure.

I got the Ndure 1.1 as you suggested & uncompressed the file... it seems like it's a totally different concept vs. SID.  I can't find any game save for Splinter Cell..?

What if my modded xbox doesn't have an MS Dash (it boots straight to XBMC) - how do I copy the needed gamesaves/files to the memory card?  Do I use File Manager & what files will I be copying this time?

it at least doesn't need a long unneeded manual. But like they basically say if you have ftp acces just extract the main rars and ftp the folders with the numbers in the E:\udata folder. Also if your xbox is allready softmodded it is highly recommended to also make the xbox's C: directory retail first otherwise files get mixed up and your xbox might end up with an error screen. (But make sure you first FTP the saves to E:\udata first AND test it with splinter cell before you do anything with C:\ since that will allow you ftp acces even if your xbox might error or becomes retail)
