How did it fail?

What happend when you put the new harddisk in the xbox?

Are you sure the disk is lockable?

What help do you expect if you give no information?

The red lights showed up on my Xbox and I got the service message.

Also, yes, the HDD is lockable - it's locked right now

Do you have a service number in the left upper corner of the service screen?

What model is your xbox?

Have you tried to unlock the original harddisk with your xboxhdm cd? This would prove that you have the correct eeprom.bin for that xbox.

How did you backup the xbox eeprom? (What program?)

Nevermind, the problem has been fixed.

It turns out that ConfigMagic is a pile of ass that can't read an EEPROM right.
