sad.gif

3rd one I bought with insurance money and had it a little over a year but I had problems with it reading my retail games and movies from day 1.  First time I put the game it came with in it, it came up saying it was unrecognized.  Maybe it was because it was a Thompson drive I dunno but it because rather troublesome but I recently sold it.

4th one I just got a couple weeks ago, premodded with Xenium from modchipman.com and I'm loving it!

Xbox is the first time I've ever had that many of them, all my previous consoles I pretty much had the same 1 forever.  I think the Xbox is a great system and killer for my first modded console if you don't count the Z64 I had for my N64.  But I think the way it's built makes it more prone to breaking.

Well My xbox freezes at flubber intro, but must be from different reasons.
My xbox flashes red/yellow, freezes at flubber.

With a noanimation bios, pressing eject at time of red/yellow flashing would get me to dashboard where 95% of games work. (PGR2, Tony Hawks, and Star Trek Dont work)
Maybe that will work for someone.

reading shaved rats post about the red led? is it flashing?
if it is you can try http://arisme.free.fr/Xbox/Reflash/
with your matrix and possibly fix it.

Ok well...It seem other people are having this problem to......

Ok well I got a V1.1 xbox that I can tell never has the TSOP jumper points touched.....The xbox frags whenever it is turned on....

I through a Matrix No Solder in it and it booted.......ALOT of the time even tho it will boot it will freeze at the flubber..the first like 3 seconds.....Sometimes I can play with the jumpers on the matrix and get it to boot.......

The thing I did notice from these post is that the xbox's frag with no chip and/or freeze and used a Matrix at some point?

I guess I will try that, I dont seem to have anything to lose right now. Id been trying to see if my xbox would boot a game from the drive upon being powered on without a mod, but my drive doesnt even open right now.  Im just curious, how exactly would I fry my EEPROM, if I did? My freezing problem seemed to progress slowly, and when it got really bad was when I removed the mod and went oh crap, this thing doesnt work at all anymore!  If this fails, I will probably go out and buy a new xbox next week (hopefully get one with the 2 month free trial of live, oh yeah!) and possibly sell this old crap xbox for parts. thanks for the help guys. if anyone has another suggestion before I go shell out 250$ lemme know tongue.gif

Like with mine...With out the matrix installed it just fraggs.....When I install the matrix, 60% of the time the xbox will boot....The other 40% of the time it willl freeze at the flubber screen....Im not sure what is wrong with this thing.....I have other modchips as well and no other chip can make this xbox boot...All other chips frag the box....So whats so special about the matrix?....and I need to figure out what bios is flashed to the matrix that I got.....Once I do get it to boot....It doesnt matter where I put the jumpers on the matrix...It still seems to boot an orignal bios...Very Strange....Im wondering if the Matrix that I have ( which was given to me) is even flashed at all....I didnt get the programmer with it....Ill put it into another modded xbox and flash it....I wonder if there is something of the way the matrix handles the D0 and LPC ponits that will make this xbox boot?

Well, I tried the EEPROM flash.  When I booted up my xbox, it said EEPROM flash successful, or something along those lines, so I powered it back off, removed the mod, connected all necessary components, powered on, uhg, still no go.  I put the mod back in, powered on, never managed to get the cromwell screen again, it was just blank.  I went back to pc, reflashed the mod with evox m7. I get some video signal, but the flubber still freezes within a few seconds. I tried many times but it would never load back up to the MS dash. I think it may be time to just buy a new xbox, maybe sell the busted one for parts. uhg. thanks for the help everyone.

First Shaved Rat, glad to see the Red Flashing is gone and video is back (meaning your eeprom values have been restored), this is a good thing, hopefully we can at least get it to play games again.

For those without modchips, I'll apologize first cuz this doesn't help you

Ok Reading thru this again I just realized that some things are not Clear..

1.) Animation is in the Bios

If your Xbox is freezing at the Flubber Screen and You have a modchip, Try Using XBTOOL to Modify the Bios to remove the Animation. This will take out the flubber intro, where my xbox freezes as well.

Once the Flubber is removed , reprogram you modchip with it, and when your chip boots it should boot straight to the X without the animation (if it doesn't freeze).

Maybe this will get you past the Flubber to at least somewhere where you can maybe access the hardrive via FTP or something, maybe even get a few more months of pleasure out of your xbox till they drop to $99 in Summer.

BTW as of Note:My backup box Im describing has a 80gb Seagate, and is a V1.0 xbox which originally had Matrix in it, but I later flashed tsop w xecuter bios.
it still plays 95% of games, Flashes red/orange, and won't boot give me any video/sound, unless eject is pressed after the the 3x red/yellow, consequently booting to whatever dashboard was chosen in the bios

you can always take your chip and hd and buy a new xbox and switch the labels i know it works at wal-mart, use a hair dryer with all the stickers included the first one on top of the box.

hey, just got my xbox modded like 2 days ago, and its freezing on all games i load with my ethernet cable plugged in, when its not plugged in it doesn't freeze, im thinking its a MS update or something, cuz everytime i reflash it works perfect until i plug in the ethernet cable, then its buggered until i reflash again.

Hmmm I get the freeze on startup flubber as well. It happens even with nothing attached so it sure aint the HD or DVD drive.
I think its a bad connection on the board.
Has anyone got the definitive answer yet?
