Softmoded Xbox,ms Dash Died

You need the file C:\xboxdash.xbe.

It is the MS Dash file. You can get it from Slayer's or from your C that is backed up on the E drive.

I would get  CASH ver 1.1 and upgrade the softmod to Krazie's Ndure 1.1.1.

when using NDURE 3.0-3.1 the C:\ drive is empty and you need to FTP all the MS dash files to it..

Well being ... me I couldn't help it.Instead of waiting for your answer I did the following:

I renamed E:\backup to backups
I ftped the 5960 dash to the E:\backup and run update.xbe
Then I went to unleashx dash and restored the C partition.I ended up with the upgraded ms dash (5960) and now it only boots the stock dash.

I understand there is a way using uddae to restore the softmod and finally having the targeted dual boot "situation".

Since you are booting to the stock dash, run the game again and re-install the softmod.

Ok so the hotswap went well.I got my unleash dash back. And from within unleash I can boot up stock ms dash.

Trouble is though that when i start the xbox using the eject button I end up with an error 21.Any ideas on that?

It may not be set up to dual boot. You can upgrade to Krazie's to enable dual boot. I don't know what you are using and if you enabled it.

You boot with the DVD eject button and if it works, it is enabled. I know that Krazie's comes with a tools folder you FTP to the Xbox after you get it modded. Do some reading on it to see if it will work.

So I upgraded to an 80GB disk.Everything went well.

I am having some minor but rather annoying issues.

I managed to resolve the first one (unleash option to boot MS dashboard booted to unleash again) by editing the xml configuration file located in E:\dash and changing the xboxdash.xbe to xb0xdash.xbe.

The one that I have left is kinda hard to discribe.I cold boot to the default dash using the eject button.I insert a retail dvd disc and after reading it, it boots right into unleash (which we don't want). Then after unleash reads the disc it says it going to launch xbox online (why???!!!) but boots right back to unleash dash.It ends up rebooting the unleash dash doing the circle on and on.

I haven't found anything on the xml to remedy that.Is there any known way?
