More bad news... After a few reboots trying to resolve the issue the box doesnt boot the rescue dash either. Black screen at startup.

Hopefully you backed up the Eeprom to MU while it gave you that choice....or you did it before that.

If you have the Eeprom, I would use Xboxhdm to rebuild the hard drive to stock. After that, start over & use Krayzies softmod...fool proof.

That is not so smart. having unplugged will do more harm then good.
Since you was at that screen you could have easily fixed it but now it seems you need a hotswap.
