That is the way I build a new HD with a softmod. Copy the stock C and E drives to the PC and use Xboxhdm. That way your original HD stays stock. You "shouldn't" run into data corruption since the F drive will be less than 250 gigs. However, I have two personal 250 drives that suffered data corruption. I would use Xbpartitioner to format the 6 drive to 32k clusters. That way you are safest.

You can do it without the E drive. The Xbox will make the TDATA and UDATA on boot. You will then need to put the game save back on after you boot the new drive.

You would add Xbpartitioner to the Apps folder and format the F drive after you have installed the softmod.
