Gain Additional Gb's Without Losing Data
« Reply #30 on: May 19, 2004, 10:53:00 PM »

I know there's a plethora of documentation on this already, but for some reason, even after i've tried what seems to be everything, my xbox won't read the remainder of my hard drive.
I've got a 250 gig western digital drive in it.  I put the extra lines in my evox.ini, i've updated my bios, the works.  I'd give more information on the problem, but i'm not sure what else would be helpful.  If somebody could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated.
thanks

nevermind, i figured out my problem.  a slight evox issue.  fixed it all up and it's working like a charm.  thanks for all the tasty, tasty information, it was invaluable.

sad.gif .

I followed all the instructions on this thread but still I am unable to get the rest of my disk. I flashed my TSOP with the the latest EvoX Bios M7 and patched it to use the full F drive and the rest to G. I enabled the UseGDrive=Yes option but when I check on the settings on EvoX it says G: Free Space = 0. I formatted the G drive anyway but no luck sad.gif

I tried to flash the TSOP I with the the latest EvoX Bios M7 and patched it to use the full F drive. But by doing this I got 25GB additional free space on F but all my games dissapeared. So I reverted it to the previous bios and got my games back.

I even tried to use the Xecuter2 4939.67 Bios but had the same results...

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Please HELP I am missing about 50% of my Disk  sad.gif

Ok, I have similar problems with the G drive.

I can see the G drive via ftp and its enabled in the ini file and my games run from the G drive no problem. All my APPS dont see the G drive at all.

When booting my X2 with M7 bios I get G showing no size and my games wont run. However, with X2 4980.67 bios I get the G showing 60 gig? (not sure cant remember) and the games play ok.

Are there patches for DVD2XBOX and XBMC

Ok, Sorted the problem with the apps and G drive.

DVD2XBOX and XBMC have both got a xml file that needs editing. Look for the part that says useGDrive, just like the Evox.ini file, and set it to yes. You will need an editor to do this, I used front page. I also added the lines for the G Drive.

I copied the sections that were for the F drive and then changed them to suit G.

Have a look below to see what I mean.

- <myprograms>
- <bookmark>
 <name>C Drive</name>
 <path>C:\</path>
 </bookmark>
- <bookmark>
 <name>E Drive</name>
 <path>E:\</path>
 </bookmark>
- <bookmark>
 <name>F drive</name>
 <path>F:\</path>
 </bookmark>
- <bookmark> *
 <name>G drive</name> *
 <path>G:\</path> *
 </bookmark>
*
- <bookmark>
 <name>DVD</name>
 <path>D:\</path>
 </bookmark>

* These lines were missing

This is from the XBMC xml file.

All is now well!!

Hi. I just modded my v 1.3 x box with an executer 2.6 lite chip and I have EvoX version 3921. I have to admit I'm fairly new at this so excuse me ahead of time.

My first problem and most important is that I purchased a 160 gig Western Digital HDD and the X box does not recognize all of this.

Partition 6 recognizes 120.516 gigs
Partition 1 recognizes 4.767 gigs

On the settings menu It says that both F and G drive are enabled.

I do have Flash FXP as well.

Finally the Bios says unknown but the Kernal version is 1.00.4983.67

So my question is this, How do I retrieve the missing area of space without losing my bios or dashboard (being that I dont have a copy of the slayers disc). I dont mind losing games or saves or anything else except the aformentioned items.

Second question as well, not as important as the first. Whenever I turn my chip off I get the green screen of death and I'm unable to load any games or the ms dash directly. Is this what everyone speaks about when they say banned from x-box live? Help.

this is obviuosly repetitive.. but i will post anyway..

i am not sure what bios version i used..  but it was a while back.. about 2 years ago maybe.. and my HDD space shows only 120.516gb....

i haev the endable G drive.. and there is evena game in it that i can play (which is weird).. i am not sure if the G drive is already set up for the other 80 gigs.. or if its just recognizing it as part of the 120..

anyideas how to figure this out?

again sorry for repetitiveness...

Sorry for the newbie question but does this functionality work for an Xecuter 3 modded xbox?  Looking at the modchip comparison page, the X3 does not support G partition as this thread is constantly mention as a requirement?  I'm probably totally off base hear but can someone clarify?

First of all, please excuse my n00b status.

Secondly, is it at all possible to save a game to your xbox hd, then move it to your pc hd via ftp?.

And if it is possible, couldn't you just pull the game from your pc hd onto the xbox hd, then play it from the xbox hd?  And when done, move it back to the pc.

That way, you would just add a huge hd to your pc and never have to worry about swapping your xbox hd.  I worry about swapping the xbox hd because of new scanning techniques by xbox Live, thus being banned because of the modded hd.

Oh, in addition...could another possibility be to use a hd connected to the network?
