Any Restore Discs Or Anything?
« on: November 16, 2007, 08:25:00 AM »

Hi, I'm selling my softmodded X-Box, and as a selling condition, I'm suppose to provide some sort of restore disc. Does anyone know if anything like this exists? He says there should be one. That restores the Xbox to either it's original factory-set condition, or to restore the softmodded if it ever messes up.

You can FTP your C and E drives to the PC. Make sure you have the eeprom backed up first. If you don't have the eeprom you can use Evox as an app and use the back up command. Using Xboxhdm, put the C drive files in the C folder and the E drive files in the E folder. Put the eeprom.bin file in the eeprom folder. Run make-iso-win and it will create an ISO file for you. Use burning software to burn the ISO to a CD. That is a recovery CD that someone could use with the PC to repair the HD or build a new one. If the ISO is too big, make sure you have taken all your music out of the E:\Tdata\fffe0000 folder from the Linux E:\folder.

You can get CASH Ver 1.1. It will allow you to restore the Xbox to original state.

Once a softmod has crashed, you won't be able to boot up anything but an original game. You could include the game used to run the softmod too.

Hmmmm ... where are you selling it that requires you to provide a restore DVD.  Surely you should just be selling as seen, so to speak.
