Splinter Cell - Softmod Question

Hello everyone!

Just a quick question about the softmod. I have 1 xbox softmodded upstairs. I took my other xbox that wasn't modded and copied all the files from xbox 1(modded) to xbox 2. I figured that if I took all the files from the modded xbox and ftped them to the unmodded xbox that I could transfer everything I needed to softmod xbox 2.

So I got it all done and rebooted the xbox 2. Error 21.

Still boots fine from games disc's. So I can redo anything that needs to be done. I was thinking I might as well just run the installer on the xbox2 and cut my losses. Unless there is something else I am missing, like BIOS update. Let me go see what Bios from M$ is installed on this xbox(xbox2)

Okay can't do that either cause I get error 21 from evox, when i tell it to boot into the M$ dashboard.

Let me know if there is anything else that can be done. Like I said before I can always just run the installer.

Oh also I used Krayzie's installer on the xbox with the softmod. I did use that option 2 times and it worked well. So i might just be better off using the installer, there is no information on that xbox that i care about.

As you found out, it isn't a good idea to transfer one modded Xbox files to an unmodded Xbox and expect it to work. It is always best to start from scratch.

i keep getting the error 21 screen as well, i have tried about every installer there is and still cannot get the mod to work. any help is greatly appreciate.

You are quite right that it would be better to start from scratch.

I'm bored at work so here's a step-by-step.

Preparation.
Download the latest slayers CD  (http://slayer.xbox-scene.com/)
Download xiso (http://www.xbox-scen...icles/xbins.php)
Download Krayzie's latest installer (xbins again)
Extract slayers iso   -- the folders you want are SYSTEM\ALL\C and SYSTEM\ALL\E

The fun bit.
Boot to your game save where you have FTP access.
FTP to the xbox .. Delete everything from C and E
Copy folders C and E to the xbox
FTP the latest of whichever Krayzie's installer your using to E:\udata
Restart

Make sure you boot up fine to MS Dash (no CD in).
Boot back to your game and re-do the soft-mod.
